RED HEART Super Saver Yarn, Pooling - Papaya

The appearance was lovely with those bright spring colors. It's not a very soft yarn, but I crocheted fillable Easter eggs with it, so softness was not as important. I didn't find any knots in the yarn. It was perfect sport weight thickness. It was on sale when I bought it, so it was a good value. The yarn held up well to crochet not separating on the hook, so it had good performance.

Great yarn and pretty

I've been using Red Heart yarn for decades! It's absolutely my, "Go To," yarn for all my projects. I prefer Red Heart to other yarns for a combined group of reasons: - Readily available - Inexpensive, as yarns go - Synthetic (neither shrinks as does wool & colors don't run) - Plethora of colors & varieties (solid; flecks; ombre; multi-color et.c.) Keep in mind that if left in the sun for a long duration, the colors will fade. (I found that out the hard way when I left my scarf on my car's dashboard.) Also, while this yarn is incredibly durable and easy to use, it's not very soft. For myself, the only thing I won't use it for is items I'm making for a baby.

This yarn is rough and scratchy. I've heard tell it can be softened up some, but I've not yet tried. However, the colors are fun and it is wonderful for planned pooling. Now this would definitely rate lower were it not for the pooling and colors, but I appreciate those enough and am having so much fun with this yarn that I am willing to rate it higher than I would elsewise.

It was left exactly where I asked to to be left! I think the colors are cute! And perfect for Easter 🐣 projects for Easter season.

Nice colors and texture but I don’t think it’s a good sale I just got it because it’s my first time I got yarn I found more for like four dollars and prime delivered so it is up to the consumer and I don’t think I will order this again unless it’s 4$

Yes you CAN color pool with this yarn. I bought it in two colors and they work like any variegated yarn. You HAVE to use a moss stitch. Any other pattern will NOT work. Color pooling yarn is typically very exact in the length of color variations but you can use any machine dyed variegated yarn to color pool, not just pooling yarn. As long as you keep the number of stitches per color the same for every color AND you match every other row to be one stitch off in color, your yarn will pool. It just takes a bit of guess work to get the first four rows correct when starting the pattern. I always start with the number of chains I need for what ever I am making, complete halfway through the third row, count how many stitches my colors are off from the first row.l, add or subtract by one, times that number by two, frog to the chain, and add that many more chains. Should work out perfect.

Red Heart is my favourite yarn. The variegated choices are special as even with a simple garter stitch items knitted or crocheted are so very interesting, lovely, and appealing. Once I finish the baby blanket I'm knitting with it, I will definitely be buying and knitting more.
