She's still catching wearing it
My cat is happy to wear it - she has previously lost collars within hours! It hasn't stopped her climbing the trees either. However, it has had no effect. Sadly, she has caught 4 birds (of differing breeds) within 3 days despite this collar cover and a bell on her collar.

My cat doesn't mind wearing this at all in spite of looking a little like a clown. But the birds in my neighbourhood are safe.

Our cat is indoor/outdoor because he was rescued as a stray adult cat. So he already had learned to live outside and hunt, and to keep him inside we would be medicating him daily. It is very effective - when our cat breaks out of this collar every 2-3 months he always comes home with a bird within 24 hours, but the entire time he wears this colorful collar, no birds (and he still catches mice!). It’s easy to put on and take off, but it will stay on my cat. Works with breakaway collars (I use a silicone one bc standard breakaway collars fall off in a week on my cat). I also like the color (rainbow) more than other patterns. Can be washed and holds up well with daily use and infrequent washing. The reflective strip around the edge is a nice safety feature for when my cat refuses to come home during daylight hours. He also looks funny in it, which is a nice perk. Only con is that it’s a little expensive for what it is. But we keep buying this bc it’s saving a lot of our local birds.

Simply put, this collar works. Lilly-Bell the cat is so sweet, but takes her main job as farm shop mouser seriously. No luck explaining to her that birds are off limits. We have been using these collars for many months, and it has been 99% percent effective for protecting birds (the 1 bird may not have been her fault - at least that's what Lilly-Bell said). Doesn't seem to affect mouser productivity. We went from multiple birds per week to effectively zero. We use it with a plastic buckled collar for her safety, and about every two - three months she manages to lose the cover and collar. We usually can find the cover at night in the bushes using a flashlight - it glows. We do put little bells on it, which may be some help. I think it's sort of trained her that birding is not productive - even when she's lost it and we haven't yet found the cover, she is not bird hunting. This has been a solid buy for us. We now keep a couple on hand in case we don't immediately find the one she was wearing.

I can't say it for sure keeps the birds away but it does make kitty's head more visible to them. It looks a bit like a clown collar and is cute. It includes a glow in the dark edge and is washable. The only tiny downside is that he can't wash himself as well as if he was just wearing a regular collar. The solution is to just take it off for part of each day.

My kitty just showed up at my door one day. She was an outdoor girl but very friendly and came inside. I tried to find a previous owner, but no luck. So I kept her. All of my cats have always been indoor only, but she was so used to being outside that I couldn't keep her in for very long. In the meantime, she was killing all kinds of animals. I didn't mind the shrews, but the birds upset me. She killed something every day, even a squirell! I tried a collar with a bell but it didn't work. When she killed a dove I was very upset and that's when I found this collar. She has not killed any birds since she started wearing the collar. The only thing that she has left me so far is a cicada. I also noticed that she isn't as desperate to go back out after she has been in and will play inside instead. I am hoping that as the birds are harder to catch she is getting less reinforcement for hunting and this will discourage her from hunting them.
