Great for garage
These are exactly what was looking for. They are solid and look sharp in the garage. Installing it isn’t too bad, just have to really pay attention your stud finder and measurements. It really does come in separate shipments, have to plan accordingly.

Easy to install, sturdy, plenty of storage room, biggest problem was finding rafter/stud centers
I really like all the extra storage this 4' x 8' overhead storage provides. The materials are very sturdy, the powder coatings are all well done, no sharp or jagged edges anywhere. The installation instructions were clear, with one minor annoyance regarding which way the mounting bars should be situated when screwing into the ceiling rafters. Early in the instructions, they show mounting with the large oval holes up, then later in the instructions it looks like the oval holes should have been on the side. I mounted with the large oval holes up, thinking that would make it easier to get stud center on both sides. This restricted me when mounting the vertical bars, which need to be perfectly straight down, since I could only move from one hole to another, not slide within a hole. It didn't cause a problem though, all the vertical bars look straight. All in all, I really like this product and recommend it to others.BTW - The biggest problem I had when installing was trying to locate stud centers. My stud finder didn't leave me confident that it was finding stud center and I wanted to be absolutely sure I got that right, I didn't want this thing falling on my car later. I then stumbled on a YouTube video that showed the guy using the stud finder to get close, then poking a nail through repeatedly to find the two sides of a stud. I balked at this at first, not wanting to poke holes in my garage ceiling, but then realized, who cares about a few tiny holes, the important thing is to get the lag bolts installed into the stud center. I then used the smallest drill bit I had and a drill to do the same thing as with a nail. I would use the stud finder to mark what I thought was both sides of a stud, then drill through the drywall and poke with the drill bit. It I hit wood, I would move a little further out and repeat. Once I had both edges identified, I then knew for sure where stud center was located. The stud finder itself was good at finding a stud, but terrible at locating the two sides. Once I adopted this process, things went very quickly. Of course, I wouldn't want to do this inside my house, but for the garage, this process worked great.

Best ceiling storage
So I finally got around to installing this and wow! It was easier than I thought it would be as I was able to install it by myself in about 2 hours. What made it so easy was the ability to install the supports directly on the back wall of my garage. This is much easier than intalling the ceiling supports. The instructions on this are not the clearest but I made my way through and it worked beautifully. Once completed, it is rock solid. The grates were slightly bent but still very usable and I blame that on FedEx as the box was beat to he!! when it arrived, so much so that the nuts and bolts broke out of the bag and were all over in the box. Fortunately none were lost in transit. I liked this so much that I just bought the 3' x 8' version to install along the side wall for additional storage. When you install this, just make sure everything is left loose until all parts are installed, then tighten everything. This allows for some adjustment in positioning.

Good quality and price
Helped to organize my garage. These shelves hold a lot of stuff. Nice heavy duty shelves. Installation was as to be expected. If you are installing near a wall and want to use the extra storage hooks put them on the base frame before you bolt base frame to the horizontal braces. My wall ended up being too close for me to add the hooks after base frame was bolted to horizontal braces. I would recommend these shelves to anyone looking for this type of set up. Good price, good looking, good quality.

Tricky to install depending on how you want it oriented
This is a high quality and very study rack system. We live in a single story home with no basement, and very little usable attic space, so this is a great way for us to store totes in our garage.Only one thing to look out for: the joists in our garage do not run front to back, they run side-to-side. While the manual and online video briefly mentions that this is a possibility, it doesn't go far enough to explain the difference in install techniques. It turns out, that since we wanted ours mounted lengthwise along the front wall of the garage, and the joists run side-to-side, I had to "toe-nail" in two of the lag screws to mount the ceiling bracket to a joist that was directly over the front wall. I was reticent to do this not knowing just how much purchase the lag screws would get, but they seem to be in there quite solidly. This system may be a little more expensive than others, it is very solid and worth the money. In this case, you truly do get what you pay for.

So far so good
Got it installed. My joist situation wasn’t ideal so we had to be very precise / careful. In total is took 2 of us about 3 hours to do and that’s with a lot of probing for our overly thin joists. Instructions weren’t overly clear but it you reread a few times and really look at the pictures you can get the gist of it. I’d imagine it would take 2 hours or less next time. Seems very sturdy and stable so time will tell!
