This Sony lens is an impressive piece of equipment, particularly when paired with the Sony ZV-E10.
The build quality of the Sony PZ 18-105mm lens is robust, featuring a solid construction that feels durable and reliable. The zoom ring operates smoothly, and the power zoom functionality is a significant advantage, especially for video recording. The lens does add some weight to the camera, but it balances well with the ZV-E10, making it comfortable to handle during extended shooting sessions. The 18-105mm focal range is incredibly versatile, covering everything from wide-angle shots to medium telephoto. This makes it suitable for a variety of shooting scenarios, including landscapes, portraits, and even some wildlife photography. On the Sony ZV-E10, this range is particularly useful, allowing for a wide array of creative compositions without the need to frequently change lenses. The image quality produced by this lens is commendable. It delivers sharp, clear images across its zoom range, with good color reproduction and contrast. The lens maintains consistent sharpness even at the edges, which is impressive for a zoom lens of this range. Chromatic aberration and distortion are minimal and easily correctable in post-processing. When paired with the Sony ZV-E10, the autofocus performance of the PZ 18-105mm is quick and accurate. The lens works seamlessly with the camera’s advanced autofocus system, making it easy to capture sharp images of moving subjects. The silent operation of the autofocus motor is an added bonus, particularly for video recording, where noise can be a distraction. Overall, the Sony PZ 18-105mm lens is a fantastic addition to the Sony ZV-E10. Its versatility, excellent image quality, and superior video capabilities make it a must-have for both photographers and videographers. Whether you're a hobbyist looking to expand your lens collection or a professional seeking a reliable all-around lens, the PZ 18-105mm is an excellent choice, value for money.

Ideal lens for Beginners.
This is an excellent lens for its price. An ideal lens for beginners. I use it with an A6600 body. What I particularly love about it is that you can keep it open at a constant F4 at all focal lengths. If one is seriously setting out to learn photography, this is an excellent lens to start off with, for shooting portraits as well as wider sceneries. It will not be appropriate for wildlife or bird photography however as the lens is unlikely to get you close enough.

A No brainer must have lens!!
Received Sony 18-105 F4 ( Version 4.0) in the second week of August 2020. I am completely in love with this lens. Decision-making: After picking up a6100 with kit lens I was really confused between buying one of the sigma trio lens ( 16mm, 30mm, 56mm ) OR just go with Sony 18105mm f4. The truth is the f1.4 is not super necessary for everyday purpose. I needed this lens for food photography mainly and some video work. There are many youtube videos which call it a decent lens only and even the dxo mark isn't that good. The youtubers who said that are professionals and must be using really expensive gear going in lakhs and lakhs. Also the videos talk about the version 1.0 which might have had some issues, and the dxo mark was done on sony 6000 which is a very old camera. Shortcomings: The only one shortcomings I found personally was the minimum focus distance on the wider side of the zoom. Once you zoom in between 60-90mm. It's just fabulous. Best Features: 18mm the widest focal length is said to be the best focal length to use this lens at and I have got great photos using all the different focal lengths. And love the weight of the lens. Extremely well built with all metal construction and feels really good on my sony 6100. I do have the sony 16-50mm kit lens which I might just use now for the 16mm f3.5 advantage in some situations ( for low light conditions) and places where the weight might be an issue. Will need a medium to large size gimbal with this lens. If you've reached till here do click the HELPFUL icon next to this review

My favourite lens for portraits
Although I use my iPhone more and more for my travels photography these days, I fall in love with my mirrorless equipped with Sony 18-105 lens again and again when I encounter suitable subjects. While shooting portraits indoors with off camera flash, there is no comparison between smartphone and a Sony Mirrorless esp. when using this zoom. Though it is heavy but the results justify its bulk. Its fast and accurate focus, the build quality really make this lens worthy of the investment. Though I have kit lens 16-50 also, I prefer it for its extra reach and better resolution.

Best offordable lens for all range
For the budget, this was the only option that I could afford, and it covers all the use cases from 18-105(the only lens I had). For a beginner with a limited budget, I guess this lens the best way to start.

Good Videography Lens, average for photos
The lens has great reach and features for videographers. The zoom is entirely internal and good for gimbals. The stabilization is also better than the kit lens in you plan to go handheld. Power zoom is also good but a preference thing. All zoom is done using motors. The photos are not the sharpest and the minimum focusing distance is also not great. It is also on the heavier side. Good for my intended purpose of shooting videos at indoor, decently lit events. For photography or lower light performance also look at the Tamron 17-70. It is heavier and probably doesn't have as good stabilization but is better for photos and F2.8.

Tutto il movimento avviene all'interno. 🔴 I Punti Deboli 1. 2.
