Great sewing machine for beginners
I am so impressed with the results. It is a high-quality sewing machine that is affordable and comes with 25 built-in stitches. I find it easy to use and it's very beginner friendly. The stitch patterns are great for all types of projects, from mending to creating new garments. I am really happy with my purchase, It's incredibly easy to use and the stitches are nice and even. I'm absolutely amazed by how easy it is to use! It's incredibly user-friendly and the 25 different stitch options provide plenty of variety for whatever project I'm working on. The free arm is also incredibly helpful, making it much easier to get into tight corners or sew curved lines.

Great machine! Sharing my fixit.
Great machine! But it has small flaw. the threader is made of a vinyl that will eventually crack (should have been made of metal). i searched the internet including Amazon and was unable to solve this issue until i decided to fix it myself. I made a washer-clamp to hold the threader together. Showing you in-case you have the same problem and are interested in fixing your brother machine. See photo 1 and 2. Good luck!!

Sewed a thousand or so masks in 2020
Gotta give this sewing machine some credit. Bought it in 2008 having never sewn a thing in my life. Tried a handful of small projects, promptly gave up and put a cover on it and it sat in my craft room.April 2020 and everyone suddenly needs masks. And I remember I have a sewing machine sitting there. Re-taught myself how to thread it and use it and wound up spending the next year sewing about a thousand masks.Every now and then it would frustrate me trying to get through thicker layers, but really? I can't say anything bad about the machine. It kept right on going and I actually found it pretty relaxing.I will say DO NOT USE CHEAP THREAD. My machine hates the cheap thread. The better thread makes nice, consistent stitches. Cheap thread is all over the place no matter what tension settings I use.Overall, it more than paid for itself all those years ago and it felt pretty good to be doing something to help out.

Out performs more expensive machines
I have owned this machine for a number of years and I have used the heck out of it. It gets transported all over the place for sewing classes & sewing events. I have sewed knits, cottons, velvet, silk, polypropylene, monk’s cloth and much more on this little machine. I am frequently at events where other’s very expensive Baby Locks, Vikings, Juki, Janome machines act up but mine just keeps on trucking. I am often asked why I use such a basic machine with some of the more complicated projects I am doing. Once you have this machine “dialed in” there are no other issues. The only thing I have noticed is that at the end of a sewing when removing your items the thread from the bobbin might be slightly caught. A small turn of the wheel will release it without any issue at all. Great little machine & I am happy to have it in my collection!

Great basic machine
I’ve had this machine for 8 years, doing only basic maintenance and cleaning on it and it’s never failed. I learned to sew with this machine and made hundreds of masks during Covid. Any small issue I’ve ever had with it was user error. My faithful companion! Thank you Brother!

I'm Loving it!
I must say that this is a great step up from my "singer school model" I've been using now for oh....twenty years now. I am the type to hang on to everything and letting go of my singer was difficult, but considering it came this past Christmas as a gift from my husband I tried it out. I am by no means a professional, but I do what I can to quilt loving items from remnants as gifts, mend my own clothes when necessary, sew clothes for my daughter and neice, etc. So this machine is quite the item for me. I am thrilled with the free arm. Also, love the needle threader. I cannot say enough about this machine. I would recommend it to anyone just starting out sewing as well. Great buy for the occasional sewer!

It’s ok
I love brother products but for some reason this machine gave me some trouble. First, I didn’t actually use the machine for about a year after I bought it. Then when I did, it was working fine & then all of a sudden it started stitching loose stitches. Even my mother, who has a machine of her own & use to work in a clothing factory, couldn’t get it to work properly. Seeing as it’s been a long time since I’ve bought it but only used it less than 10 times, I can’t return or at least exchange it, so it’s just been sitting in the box, listening to me use my mother’s old machine. I’d love to get the digital one, since that’s what I used in a sewing class I took & really liked it
