Want to replace all my rods with these
Love these rods, wife loves them also. I can really get a feel of the bottom when dragging for spring walleye in 5 foot of water. I’ve caught everything from perch to a 54” musky and never had a problem. I use this as my primary casting rod. Feels good even after 6 days of 16 hours per day fishing.

Weak flipping rod with a weak warranty
I bought this flipping rod late March '23. I was really excited how light and sensitive it felt and was equally excited to retire my 33 year old Allstar flipping stick that was feeling a little to heavy in my old age. In late June '23 I treated myself to a day of flipping hydrilla and jerking bass. The rod was great until I swung the second six pounder into the boat and the rod snapped. My day was over and I headed to the house, being assured by my good fishing buddies that Dobyns would take care of the rod. The story didn't exactly end like that. After speaking with a rep at Dobyns, I was encouraged to send the rod in for inspection. $35 shipping cost and I get a call telling me that the rod was stressed beyond it's capability and that the new rods have less graphite in them, making them lighter and more sensitive but not as strong. Not covered by warranty but they would replace it for $60 + $30 shipping. So much for a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Their warranty should be termed a REPLACEMENT POLICY. Unhappy fisherman!

Best spinning rod for frogging
Hasnt done me wrong yet. Ive landed some big pike to my PB bass on this rod. Has lasted me a whole season of froggin which says a lot. Im hard on my rods. UDPATE: . If you fish in heavy heavy cover id go with the champion xp. But if you want to save a few bucks you can still get it done with the sierra. Both rods are perfect if you can't give up spinning reels but still want to throw topwater. My biggest problem with the Sierra is when you have a big fish you can feel the reel almost wobble a tad. as if it's not locked down all the way, its a tad uncomfortable and distracting. I even changed reels to to see if it was that but I don't think that's the case. The champion doesnt have this issue.

Fantastic
Lightweight, responsive, classic styling. This is one of my favorite rods I've had for spinning reels over the past 30 years.

Snapped in half!
Owned it for 6 months and loved it until it snapped in half setting the hook on a 2 pound smallmouth. I've never snapped a rod in 20 years of fishing! Totally dissapointed. I finally spent a little more money on Dobyns and I'm completely let down.

Great Workmanship!
Super rod strong and sensitive and light. It would be the perfect rod except for the short butt. If you think you can grab the butt and swing a mile forget it, its too short. I am a yaker they make these special rods with short butts to better manever around in the boat, don't like them. So that being said this is a short caster (which I am not) and a flipper. I am a corker trying to get used to these new rods, don't like the split cork, but I am in the minority since most new rods are made with little cork.

Nice Rod, great service.
Great product. Was shipped carefully, and arrived safely. Have used it a few times and performs well.

Current favorite rod
Springy enough to fling light baits a mile, enough backbone to set the hook and keep the pressure on all the way. It’s phenomenal for micro chatterbaits, wacky rigs, rooster tails, and tiny crank baits. I’ve caught largemouth, white bass, crappie, and drum so far. I snapped the tip off getting it out of the car and Dobyns replaced it for a small fee through their lifetime warranty program. Can’t recommend this rod enough.
