Go Veggie Cheese Shredded Monterey Jack, 7 Ounce (Pack of 12)

my regular grocer stopped carrying go veggie shreds so i was in a panic. i came to...where else?... amazon and much to my surprise, they have it and monterey jack at that! i order the required amount of packages and shoved it into my freezer so that it stays fresh till i need it. it has made my transition from meat eater to vegan a lot smoother. this cheese melts well and has a cheesy consistency. the taste is good, too. i use it in casseroles, vegan tacos, vegan hot dogs and anywhere else you would use shredded cheese. thank you amazon.

I used to be able to get this cheese in my local stores but they are all not carrying it anymore. That is too bad because this is great for cooking if you are lactose intolerant as we are. I was very glad to find it again. This is very good cheese, if you can find it and it melts well in dishes. I have not been able to find a good substitute for it at a reasonable price. It is the closest thing to the taste of dairy cheese I have found.

I use this stuff all the time and for years. I used to get it locally but the stores in the mid-west no longer carry it. So, I get it through Amazon which is a god-send for me. However, I now use less of the product since I can't pick it up locally.

For the record, I love this cheese, but it is only for lactose free needs, not for vegans. Also, if it does have milk in it, it is cheese, so having a GoVeggie label is confusing. This has been positioned for vegans for quite awhile, but it really isn't. Yes, I see that the packaging clearly mentions "lactose free", but this has been in the vegan sections, so I suppose it is misleading.

This IS NOT VEGAN read the ingredients. It is very frustrating to me that this company is clearly trying to target vegans, it is called go veggie for christ sake.
