Should i be concerned for using the lp-e6 vs lp-e6n?

NO, no concern whatsoever! I checked the Canon USA website, selected a camera that I know (from the mags) uses the LP-E6N, the Canon EOS 5DSR, and below the camera you can see its accessories. I went to the LP-E6N battery and next to it is the phrase "Product compatibility," clicked it, and a box opens listing all the cameras with which the new battery is compatible. I have a 5DII and a 6d, both which came with the original LP-E6 battery and both are listed as being compatible with the LP-E6N. You did not mention your camera but, if you do like I ALWAYS do before answering an Amazon Prime question, your camera is probably listed there as being compatible with the LP-E6N... check it out! IT'S FREE!!!

Is this a canon battery? or is it an after market battery?

Capacity is about 3.6% up from the previous model LP-E6. It can also be used in conventional models for the LP-E6 and power.

Is it okay to use an LP-E6 and LP-E6N together in a Canon battery grip pack that holds two batteries?

Sure is. But if I were you i would invest in the lp-e6. For me the Lp-E6Ns I bought haven't worked well at all. After around 500 exposures they both just stopped and would not take a charge. Bought two Lp-6s they are working fine.
