My old bike has a 7/8" stem, but nobody makes a 7/8" cable hanger anymore. I wrapped several layers of heavy paper around the stem as a spacer and it's working fine. It's resting on the headset, so it can't go anywhere. Very nicely made.

A "1 inch quill stem" is not actually 1 inch (it is 7/8") so this doesn't fit. Not the fault of this product. Amazon saying they are "frequently bought together" makes you think it is going to work, it does not.
