Fruit flies make bad pets.
I like pets and i like fruit. However combining them you get fruit flies. I thought for a while when after i realized my home got some of them fruit fly critters that i would learn to embrace them, to learn to love them and to become one with them. I imagined taking them for walks, taking them to the park or what not. However, after many days of attempted communication via vocal commands and showing verbal disappointment, I came to the conclusion that fruit flies are just selfish, self centered creatures.I tried to take them to court to have them evicted. It didn't go well. The fruit flies had apparently paid off the judge as the judge had very harsh things to say to me. Such as, but not limited to: "Son. are you ok?" and "Why are you wasting my time with this?"Frustrated, i walked out of the courtroom after losing the battle, but not the war.So i went on Amazon and bought these traps and a few days later the ungrateful freeloaders were gone.Joking aside, they do the job. The reason for only four stars is because the holes to lure the fruit flies in seem to be a bit large. Where some of the smarter fruit flies must realize it's a trap and simply throw it in reverse and leave. Eventually tho, it will do the job just fine.Buy it.Fin.

Very Pleasant, Fruit Flies Very Happy With It, Does Not Kill Flies
I would like to start by saying that if you are fond of fruit flies, and want to give them a treat that is fun to sit on and contributes to a safe fruit fly environment, this is the product for you. It will attract fruit flies, they will sit on the little plastic apples and absolutely thrive. They will be grateful for a colorful little red plastic apple to sit on. They are going to love this- they will find the included fluid delightful and will climb in and out of the little holes, seeming to have the time of their short little lives. The reason for my two star rating is that I was led to believe that this product would cause a violent painful death for the flies in our kitchen, whom I steadfastly hate. I had no desire to add any comfort to their miserable little lives. I don't want them in my life, and certainly don't want to make them happy. The reason I give two stars instead of one- I AM impressed at how effective it is at making flies happy. Before, they were buzzing around everything and getting into food, and now they seem pleased to just sit on the apples and socialize. They still buzz around things, but not nearly as much. I'd say they are about 65% more tolerable now that they are happy then they were before I introduced this product. So maybe this peaceful solution that didn't involve any killing is a moral high road. It's like if America was invaded by a foreign army, and instead of killing them we said 'hey, here are some delicious sandwiches and chips' and gave them a nice place to have a picnic, and maybe that would be the answer to avoiding a lot of killing and unpleasantness. I don't know, but this situation is certainly putting strange ideas into my head.So in short, if you want to murder fruit flies, maybe try fire. If you want to elevate their quality of life and come to some kind of peace through non-violent means, this seems like a pretty good product to do that.

Amazing little traps
Over the summer we had an explosion of fruit flies over a few days and we could not figure out where they came from. It was at the point where after 2 weeks we were taking our trash to our outdoor trash cans immediately (no indoor trash cans were being used), we ate all meals outside, and had basically resorted to take out for all meals because cooking when surrounded by what felt like thousands of fruit flies was sickening. After trying all the internet at home trap suggestions we finally broke down and bought these things. The difference was INCREDIBLE. The flies started swarming the liquid that comes with it as soon as I took the cap off the bottle. I filled 4 of the adorable apples with the provided whatever it is and placed them around our kitchen. Within hours you could see a difference in the amount of flies in the air (and inside the traps, ew). Within a week the fruit fly problem was gone. Definitely worth the money when fruit flies decide to invade your living space for no reason. After getting rid of the flies we deep cleaned the kitchen and never did figure out what drew them all in, but at least we know how to handle a situation like that in the future if it ever happens again.

Dang Fruit Flies.
We were hit with a fruit fly problem earlier this summer. We bought these, added the liquid bait and the little buggars were fighting each other to die. Easy to refill with the refill tube or pull apart for cleaning or adding cider vinegar. This trap does the trick. Happy Hunting.

These are it
I was introduced to these a few years ago by my local hardware store. It worked great at the time. Now that we're in 2020 and lockdown is the name of the game for high risk people, I had to get these online. First, let me say, wth Amazon? These are twice the cost than at my local hardware store. Also, the design is very different now. At first, I wasn't too happy but then I realized the little windows were actually a lot more convenient than the old design.A lot of people are complaining these didn't work. I made the mistake of keeping fruit out on the table in summer. My mistake. So I know these are fruit flies. These won't work for any other types of flies. But they do work well with actual fruit flies. But if you can, buy them locally because it will be significantly cheaper.

Really Works! p.s. Be Patient!
Because this offer included two packages I took one to work and kept the second one home. These traps are very easy to set up and the design is not too unsightly for the workplace. We were plagued by fruit flies in my office for several weeks, they seem to never go away. After these traps were out for several days it didn't seem like anything was happening, there were still little flies buzzing around. But when I looked in the traps there were at least a dozen floating in the vinegar solution! So the traps do work, there are just more of the little critters flying around than we realized! We are happy with the results and will keep these traps on hand.

Works mainly for gnats
I mainly got this for gnats and it has helped a lot. Only when the smell is strong though which doesn’t last that long.
