A Great Set for children Who like robots and building
My son is really into robots and STEM toys at the moment, he is convinced that he wants to build robots when he gets older, so we are trying to do everything we can to encourage him in this venture. So far, he has had a lot of different kits like this to work and play with and this one is definitely up there as one of the best sets. The pieces fit together really well and there are a lot of different things you can build with it. Once the different "robots" are constructed, they don't just fall apart as some of the cheaper kit do. He is 9 now and this definitely works for his age, it is challenging for him to build but it is not too hard to figure out (especially since ha has already built a few of similar style at this point. You really cant overestimate how useful this is for education, everything that continues to grow interest in a hobby like this is worth it! All the parts work as they should and the instructions are not hard to follow so I'd say this functinos very well and you really can't get a better deal for the money it costs. I would say this kit is good for 8-12 year olds, any younger than that and they may not be able to do it, and those older probably may find it to be a bit boring. I recommend this though if your child is into STEM things!

Fun kit with lots of options of what to build.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this kit. Considering the age recommendation of 8, I'm not really mad how it turned out, but it was a bit rough for my 6-year-old.I got this kit for my 6, almost 7-year-old, daughter and she had a good amount of fun with it. She did decide to only build one of the items and put it on her shelf, the motorcycle, but she did go through and complete a kit. To muddy things a bit more, she had a 16-year-old babysitter help and when I got home, some things weren't right, and the motorcycle didn't functionally work. As I needed to write a review for this, I really wanted to help my daughter get the motorcycle together myself. But I wasn't there for the build, just the fix. What went wrong:1. Neither the 16-year-old, my daughter or I could figure out the battery pack. I get home from work and my daughter is asking me to put batteries in the battery pack. Visually looking at it, it appears as it should just pop open. There is a screw that looks like it might be holding the top down but its so far back on the housing, I'm thinking there is no way the screw I'm seeing is holding the battery compartment closed. Turns out, it does.2. My daughter mounted the motor upside down so when I did get batteries in it, it rolled backwards.3. Simple fix to flip the motor over but that's when I discover when looking at the manual that the colors of the parts don't match the colors shown in the manual. If you look at the images, I've attached you can see that most parts are the same color, when in reality, they're not. My family builds a decent amount of Lego kits, so we separate parts into individual bowls, and I use color to locate pieces I'm looking for. So, I found this annoying. There aren't a ton of parts, nor does the same part exist in different colors. Still, it was annoying.4. She didn't finish the power setup. Not a big deal. I think she got hung up on the battery pack and simply didn't finish.Final thoughts:After getting everything together and working my daughter was super excited. I asked if she wanted to assemble another kit and she wasn't interested in doing that. I think there is 1 or maybe 2 kits that don't require the wheels and motor, so I suppose she could complete those, but the main thing is she has no interest in taking the motorcycle apart once it was together. Thats pretty typical I think but it also limits how in depth we got. Regardless of that though I think my biggest complaint and the reason I took the star away was due to the incorrectly colored parts in the manual.

Great STEM Kit for Kids!
This is an awesome STEM kit for Robotics. I purchased this to use in both my homeschooling with my daughter and our Girl Scout Troop to help them earn their robotics badge. It comes with an instruction book and a tray inside the box to help organize pieces. I do wish it came with a lid for the tray because once the box was shut and we tried to store it the pieces all mixed back together. The pieces are very sturdy and was used them in multiple builds with no issues. This kit provides an opportunity for so much creativity!
