Does the job, good customer service.
Second Edit: updating to four stars. I used the replacement knife and it does work better than the first one I had. It’s still a fine line between “hot enough” and “too hot”, but it does the job. I prefer to use a honey planer I borrowed from a friend, but this knife is more affordable and a good second option.Edit: updating from one star to three because the company reached out to send me a replacement knife. I haven’t had the chance to test it yet, won’t be harvesting honey for a few more weeks, but I appreciate the customer service. Will update agai after testing the replacement knife.Original review: The first time using this, the dial didn't seem to work. Turned it to the the right and waited and waited and waited and nothing... turned it further (repeat) and further (repeat) and further (repeat). Ended up turning the dial all the way around clockwise until it made a full rotation and was back on the left. Then that thing heated up like crazy, there didn't seem to be any happy medium. Either nothing or burning the honey. Super disappointed. Went back to using a regular knife.

Product info/instructions?
It would be nice to have instructions that tell what the 5 settings are on the temp control for the knife...at the very least Is 1H hotter than 4H and what is the '.' indicative of? I would rather not scorch honey or wax trying to figure this out. Haven't tried the knife yet and depending on whether I can determine what setting to use I may find it useful and it may just irritate the hell out of me.

Need a way to contact seller
We bought this product early in the season and went to use it and it does not heat up enough. Now we are past the return window. There's a wire coming out of the thermostat control. I'm having a difficult time getting in touch with the Seller. Im sure they would like to fix the issue.

Looks to be a good buy for the price
I received this knife after my honey extraction season was over, so I have not been able to really use this knife, and will not for several months. However, here are my first impressions of the item, and I (hopefully) will come back here to review it in full when I have had a chance to really use it.The knife looks and feels solid. The wooden handle is large, which might be uncomfortable for those with small hands, but it works for me. The handle is sealed with a clear varnish. The knife is polished to a mirror-like shine, which should help it slice through the cappings better. It heats up slower than I thought it would, but it did heat up well, and will melt wax. It seems to have enough mass to where it will retain temperature well.Another reviewer complained about the lack of information, but there is not much to understand. The rotary knob controls the heat output. The push buttom turns the unit on and off, and it also has a "timeout" function that you can choose through with repeated button presses, for example "1H" means "one hour." The timeout is a nice feature. What more can I say, it is a heated knife. I expect it will serve me well, and it seems to be a good value for the price.

Initially Defective
Mine would not heat up at all, so I am returning it.UpdateThe seller did contact me (so I raised the rating to 3 stars) to try to replace the defective one, but I had already decided on another model. It is possible I just got an isolated defective item, so I wouldn't write this item or seller off completely.

Test before 30 days are up !
Check if uncapping knife works as soon as you get it !!!!! I waited too long to use it (30 days were up ). No heating of the knife at all ! Caution ,foreign made, buy an american made one !

Confusing!
No way to really tell temperature settings. What does 1H, 2H,3H,& 4H represent? If those are the temperature settings what is the adjusting dial for? Used it to uncap a few frames of honey, tried various positions on the dial and settings of the 1 thru 4 ,either to hot or not enough heat. has a cool blue light though.

Heats well
I really like that you can set the heat temperature. For us it worked best to wipe it down with a wet rag between uses so that any honey wouldn’t burn on it.
