The Only Time I Lost Was Waiting too Long to Purchase
What can I say, the literature speaks for itself. Proust has a way with words that captivates and enthralls the reader from beginning till end. I bought a "Used, Like New" and it was cancelled as the item was not available, ordered a second time and got a steal for a "Very Good" for 180 which had a single corner dent on the showcase boxing, the books were in pristine and unread condition. The lettering will fade with time, the books are a cloth binding but the binding is tight and clean. The pages are decent weight and quality ink.If you are unfamiliar with Proust I suggest taking a sample of his writing before purchasing this set. To say that Proust is long winded would be an understatement. A single sentence can span half a page with description. His use of language is exquisite and beautiful, the best I can relate to is perhaps if Dickens lengthened his "Our Mutual Friend" by 6 times with not a lot of addition to the story itself. Do not let the description be cumbersome. Enjoy it slowly, it is a time honored classic that should be read with care.I do not want to go into the plot of the story since I feel it spoils the reading. I have thus far gone up to midway of book three, and have completely and utterly enjoyed the work. So curl up with a nice roaring fire, a beverage and a blanket, the only time you will lose is the realization of how long you were lost in this book for.
