No, reflex implies the use of a mirror. It is a throw back to film cameras when viewfinders were not very good for accuracy because you were not 'looking through the lens'. The main advantages of SLR is the view finding is better in sunlight because light reflecting from the glass panel on the back of cameras like the Cool Pix is a minor nuisance. How are the images saved and how are they downloaded off the camera?

On to an sd memory card and you can then either pop the sd card into a computer, or other device, or you can plug in the supplied cable to your computer.
