Record a Story I Love You So Much Hardcover – June 1, 2011

This book is a piece of junk!!!!! I had to rate one star or the site would not let me post the review. If I could, I would rate it zero stars. I ordered three of these books, one for each grandchild. The first two appeared to record okay, but the third one would not record at all on certain pages. I contacted Amazon who responded admirably and had one shipped to me the very next day and I sent the original one back. The new one that was shipped didn't work properly either, but it was only the last page (we thought) that didn't work, so we kept it and gave it to our grandson Christmas Day. Well, to our surprise, almost all of the pages DID NOT WORK on Christmas Day when he opened it!!! NOT EVEN THE FIRST DEDICATION PAGE. This book is definitely going back. The other two we gave as gifts and they didn't work as they should, but the grandchildren were so excited we were not able to get them back. Even the first two that appeared to work at first did not work as they should when they were opened on Christmas Day!!!! Imagine my humiliation, giving gifts that did not work properly, especially to young children who find it difficult to understand why someone would give something to them that does not work. As soon as I can get everything together the book that didn't work at all will be going back. I plan to followup with my other two grandchildren's parents and if those books are still malfunctioning, they will be going back as well. We followed all the instructions exactly, placing on flat surface, etc., but nothing worked. The concept is good, but the technology is a piece of junk. Save yourself a lot of humiliation and time, DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. EVEN IF IT WORKS AT FIRST, AFTER A FEW DAYS (even sitting wrapped and unused), IT WON'T WORK AT ALL.

if you want to leave your voice for your children or grandchildren this is a great was to do it, you record the story page by page and if you wish you can add comments about that page too. We are recording for our granddaughter that lives along way from us and doesn't get to be with us much, this product allows her to hear our voices and know who we are. love this idea. it's great!

Ordered, sent back the first book, and received a new one and it doesn't work either! Recorded my voice, and the book either says nothing or says the wrong thing on the wrong page. One page wouldn't let me record at all. It's really too bad this doesn't work, as I was hoping to have my granddaughter have a recording of my voice that she can listen to long after I'm gone. Would NOT recommend at all. Not worth the money.

This is a very beautifully illustrated book that is easy for your little one to follow along with, word for word, as you read to them and they can hear and see that they are loved. I sent this book to my granddaughter and I hope that she will "read" this book over and over and not only have the words ingrained in her heart, but she will always be able to know that she is loved and one day, long after I am gone, she will still know how much I love her.

Nice illustrations. The story line is very simple. Just one line to read on each page.I bought this book a year ago for my infant grandson but tucked it away to give to him when he is old enough to recognize my voice and realize it's me reading it to him. Today I recorded the story and gave it my final approval. When I went to put the battery cover back on, the recording quit working. I can no longer can get any sound. Nothing. I tried changing the batteries, but that didn't help. I planned on giving it to him for his birthday, which is in a few days. It's too late to send it back.

I was very excited to get this book and have my twins dad record his voice to the story. I wanted them to be able to hear his voice ready the book to them while he was away at work. The book has great illustrations and the story is cute but the recording device did not work well. From day one several of the pages wouldn't playback the recording properly. I think it had something to do with the sensors not working properly. While this is a great idea, it really fell short. We ended up never using this since it didn't work. I would suggest searching for a higher quality item.

I bought this for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday, and she absolutely loves it. My husband and I took turns reading the pages, and we used her name when reading it. She lives 2000 miles away from us, so it's nice for her to hear our voices. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the book is very sensitive, i.e., if it's not perfectly flat, the pages won't play correctly. Since this is for younger children, it would be nice if it were easier for her to hold on her lap and hear us read to her. There are not too many pages in the book - it looks like it has a lot more - but all in all, that's okay. It is VERY easy to figure out how to record, etc.One helpful hint: if you have trouble with the book not recording as it should, try putting in some new batteries, then it should work fine.If you want a great gift for your child or grandchild, this is wonderful! I am very impressed. (I've been told she's very impressed, too!)

I was very excited to see this book at one of my client's house and thought this would make a perfect Christmas present for my grand daughter who lives in another state. I was so very disappointed. I started recording following the enclosed directions. My recording got messed up so I followed the directions to make corrections.......then the book "went to pot"! I ended up deleting my voice and it reset to factory settings and still did not reset right! Did I not only waste my money on this one but two others as well. It is not worth the time or effort or money to contact seller and send back and wait for a refund......DO NOT BUY!

This book arrived damaged (no damage to package) and it had no batteries I. It. Once replaced, the unit still did not work. I contacted about a return and shipping would have cost me $30, which is same as purchase price. I have no refund on product and this is clearly junk. Do not buy.

I purchased this in November for my nephews 1st birthday i wanted to record myself and my daughters reading it to him but as his birthday was not till 31december we have only just opened it to record. We are all so upset as it will not register the first page for a recording and as you follow the instructions and record each page it only registers the last recording..We have followed the instructions to the letter but it is faulty.we are now very unhappy as we are left without a vital part of his present and too late to send it back.i have purchased many of these types of books in the past and never had a problem before untill now

Such a great item for family that is far away or close. It helps the children remember the person that recorded the story. Something that can truly become an heirloom item if the person that recorded the book, passes away.

My grandchildren loved this. They live abroad and wanted to know if I was reading it now through the book!As long as you follow the instruction all worked well, the most difficult part was taking out the screw!

Very disappointed. The item was marked as Very Good condition but it was in terrible shape, had partially removed stickers on the cover and writing in the book. I had intended to give this to my grandchild as a gift but its condition is too poor
