Good value $ and comfortable
This commode offers much more comfort as it is designed with padding. The opening is also larger, allowing one more space. It is also easy to climb AND good value in the money

Simple to clean and maintain
When my grandfather started having trouble moving around, using the restroom became a challenge. I decided to get him a commode chair, and although putting it together took some effort, once it was assembled, it was ready to place right next to his bed. The rust-proof aluminum frame feels sturdy and stable, and the adjustable height was one of the most important features. I set it so it’s almost level with his mattress, which lets him use the armrests for support when getting out of bed, and it doesn’t wobble at all. My only small concern is that it feels a bit narrow for him, a wider seat might be more comfortable. The seat is removable, makes cleaning easy and prevents hidden spots from becoming unsanitary. Since we started using it, getting in and out of bed has been easier and safer for him, which makes both of us feel more at ease.

Sturdy, pretty comfy commode, with good-fitting bucket, and easy tools free assembly [4.5 stars]
Of the many commodes I have tried and reviewed this one ranks near the top in terms of cost / benefit. Here are my observations. [ ↑ PROS, ↓ CONS, ↔ MIXED ]↑ (MOSTLY) EASY ASSEMBLY: The machining is very good helping to make the tools free assembly pretty quick and easy. NOTE (↔): One of the pads under the toilet seat where it meets the frame when closed fell off. I was able to stick it back in place but a worthy FYI.↔ to ↓ TIPS RE INSTRUCTIONS: 1) The 4 “Foot Tubes” [Part 10] are pre-attached so skip Step 8. 2) BEFORE doing Step 5, look at Step 6 and that the slots in the under-seat part of the back rest are facing inwards so the 2 Aluminum Rails (Part 16) can be installed. 3) The Removable Commode Bucket (Part 14) was very tightly inserted inside the Splash Guard (Part 15); separating them was doable but a challenge. ↓ 4) There is NO mention of what the Splash Guard is for and how to use it in the listing or the included instructions. It is used for when the commode is placed over a toilet instead of the bucket to help keep things tidy. I have included a photo of this and the one issue is the regular toilet seat does not allow the commode to be as far back as desired; useable but with care depending on the toilet and its seat.↑ STABILITY: This aluminum alloy frame commode weighs just 11.4 pounds but very stable, without any movement and I am a larger than average sized man (but not close to the 350-pound capacity). The wide rubber footings also were stable and did not slide around.↑ COMFORTABLE: To me this is a spacious comfortable commode with cushioning on the arms and seat back (first time I’ve seen this), and quite a bit of cushioning on the seat. Note (↔): The widest part of the toilet seat hole is about 9.5” (a bit wide to me and another adult in my household).↑ ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT: Very easy to adjust between 6 heights from 18” to 23” from the floor to the top of the toilet seat.↑ DEEP SECURELY FITTING BUCKET: The bucket is deeper than most I have seen and fits securely in place (some commodes have buckets that are a bit wobbly to the point I wouldn’t use them).↑ DIMENSIONS PER MY MEASUREMENTS (some not in the listing or included instructions):□ 18 5/8” wide between the arms□ 16 1/2" front to back of toilet seat□ 18” front of toilet seat to seat back□ 9 1/4" wide toilet seat hole□ 1 3/4” thick toilet seat (1” of that is cushioning)□ 1 3/8” seat back thickness (7/8” of that is cushioning)□ 6” deep bucket□ 18” to 23” floor to top of toilet seat (6 heights)OVERALL, this is a very good commode with a strong cost / benefit at this price range. It may or may not be useable set up over a toilet using the splash guard depending on the toilet and toilet seat as explained herein, but in fairness it is listed as a standalone commode (not for use over a toilet). The only nits are covered in my “Tips Re Instructions” and perhaps the width of the toilet seat hole. To me this is a very good choice worth consideration as a standalone commode. [4.5 stars]

Homland bedside commode with padded seat
I'm having hip replacement surgery and am preparing for post-op. Because of the configuration of my home and being told it can take longer to get the bathroom than one's bladder agrees to, I was convinced a bedside commode would be wise and ordered this one as it looked as if it would be perfect. I was right!Opened the package, noted the nicely padded seat and back and began assembling. It was straightforward enough except one of the 4 wingnut screws, used for the crossbars that secure the backrest and pail, would not tighten. (See photos) Just would not catch. I walked away for an hour, hoping it would change its mind but nope. It will not tighten. My friend tried. Nope.----It's now 3 days later and handyman to the rescue! He also could not tighten it but tried without the gold spacer and Eureka! Whew! The commode is put together and I'm relieved because I really like, and want to use, this one. The seat is as comfortable as such seats can be, and it's nice to have a padded backrest for when post-op toiletry is difficult. The commode is very stable. I'm 210 lbs and there was no wiggle at all. The seat lifts up in order either to take the bucket out or to cover it, and is easy access to clean. My caregiver will appreciate this! The bucket sits a little further back than I'd like only because it results in a forward gap. I wish the bucket was more forward or else larger because I won't be pushing with my legs to get further back. That said, will be using this bedside over carpet so will lay down plastic protection underneath so will be okay. All in all, am very happy with this commode and feel relieved to be prepared!
