Great backing pad, unfortunately can’t make a crappy da less crappy.
Bought this to use chemical guys pads on my Chicago electric DA... fit perfectly and is super high quality. Unfortunately the Chicago electric da isn’t great and ultimately failed. I bought a torq 15 and it came with the same backing plate and works awesome. I have this one as a spare.

Defective!
I'm a big fan of Chemical Guys products, but this flexible backing plate is garbage. After one use it tore in the process. Luckily, I saw it separating while making a slow pass and quickly lifted the DA off the paint before it completely tore off. I was skeptical making this purchase with others having the same issue. I saw / read many others didn't have issues, so I went ahead with the purchase. Won't be buying this product again. I'll stick with the yellow backing plate.

The product has a piece in the middle of the buff to attach it. It does not show in the picture.I had to return it. No problem processing the return. I got my money back.

Rips apart easily...
These plates are not that durable, one plate barely made it through my mid-size saloon. I used the plate for roughly five hours and it began to make me worry around hour three. I'm new to the whole detailing idea, so it could be down to how I used it. Given the higher price compared to other plates, it is expected to be more durable than others.

Torq backing plate review
The backing plate did not last for the first 1/4 of the car before it ripped off the machine and the polishing pad went flying across the garage. Maybe lasted 30 minutes. All my other backing plates I have for my Torq 10FX work great but this one just crumbled & no, I was not applying too much pressure. Maybe it was defective but that is what happened w/ mine. Maybe I'll get another one & see if it happens again but I haven't gotten around to getting another one & using this backing plate again yet.
