Made a set of cables for my brother. I used this on the guitar end on the input cable.We use tube amps so NOT having to put the amps in standby while changing guitars is invaluable in a live situation.The 90 degree angle is also great for directing the cable towards the strap so it doesn't need a huge loop to pull your cable between the body and strap. Keeps it tight to the body.NOTE - if your guitar or bass has the output plug on the front, this may not work for you. You would be better off with the straight version of this connector.As soon as the plug is removed from the guitar, this connector creates a short which silences the amp. Plug back in, connection is completed. Simple as that. No buzz, no hum, no thump.Termination is very well designed and built.

Great for switching guitars and not having to turn off amp or put in stand bye mode. No popping.

Works exactly as advertised. It mutes the signal when you unplug it. No pop, no hum, no buzz. Just silence. Un-mutes when you plug it into a guitar. It makes swapping guitars easier, and much, much faster. NOTE: Use 40 watt or lower soldering iron. It's a pretty tight fit on the angle type connector.

Very clever design...a foolproof mechanical switch! The spring-loaded collar at the base of the gold tip only engages when the plug is seated completely into a jack...thus closing the circuit. Pretty simple to solder (not sure why some reviews said otherwise) and no more skill required than to solder a standard 1/4" plug.

This is the best noiseless plug I have found. The switching ring around the outside works flawlessly and the standoff distance works in my Telecaster with a cupped jackplate.It's expensive and the red color makes it a little obtrusive but the jack can be separated into 3 pieces so it's easy apply a little black guitar lacquer without getting over spray on the gold contacts.Do yourself a favor and use some star quad mic cable for a quiter than normal cord.

This connector is AMAZING! I can't believe I've lived this long without it. I play at least a couple of times a week on stage, and this bad boy is a lifesaver. Aside from function overall construction is top notch as we'll. Probably the best strain releif system I've seen to date. It is worth every cent.

Really quiet switched plug- sems like really high quality- I am especially empressed by the design of the multiple piece housing/Instead of a thread on barrel this design is an inovation in assembly

The product looks and feels cheap and flimsy . Also, you need to put it together and solder it to your own cable. Finally, the price is way too high. I found a well made silent cable for just a few dollars more.
