Got these in because I can't stand pleather pads at all. They also help with the stuffy feeling without having to enable sidetone. Yes they do change the sound, but I actually prefer it for gaming. I'm used to open back headphones, so these pads help lean a little more towards that direction. For music, you'll hear some bass reduction, feel free to EQ that back in if necessary. If you like velour pads, you'll know what you'll be getting into with these. Nice pads, easy swap.

I think with the Dekoni Maxwell offerings I'm regarding the velour as like the sweaty gamer pads, where the sheepskin are the more audiophile pads. As such, the velour are definitely more breathable, not as sound dampening, and it does impact the sound. My experience as such essentially matched up with Dekoni's published FR graph, there was a bit of a dip in overall sub through midbass, coming back around mids and similar enough in the upper ranges. It's not such a dramatic impact that it really hurts the experience, just different, mostly subtle if you're using them for gaming. Comfort on the velour is great. Fits well, easy to install. Great if you're leather adverse. I do wish they were a bit thicker, but they're not bad for me. Might not be what people with bigger ears are looking for if you want no-touchy.

So I tried the Velour and sheepskin Dekoni ear pads. The sheep skin is much more expensive. The Velour is fabric is comfortable and doesn’t create a tight seal like the sheep skin. Both the foams feel similar. Personally, I found I wasn’t a fan of velour as much as I thought I would be. I think I would prefer a smooth silk over it. These fit well on the Maxwell, press twist just like the OEM.
