Quality System
This is pretty much just what I was looking for. I spend about 2 hours a day on the treadmill and I need musical entertainment at the same time. The sound with the subwoofer is fantastic. I can adjust the sound with the remote as I tread. Wonderful is the bass and treble adjustments instead of the presets. Good riddance to them. Having about 500 personal recordings on cassette from my karaoke days, I appreciate the cassette deck. I only wish it included rewind and fast forward capabilities. I also like the way CD starts up from where it left off from the last time you played it instead of starting all over again. I don't want to hear the first tracks over and over again without maybe ever hearing the later tracks. It's difficult to see the labels for the controls (I've used a flashlight at times) but once you learn where the various knobs are controlling the system works out fine. CD systems are more difficult to find in the stores today and hearing them before you buy also but you can be assured this system overall is a quality find.

working good for us.
Got this to replace an early 1980's system that took up too much space. This turned out to be a little bigger than expected but still smaller than the old system. Nice to be able to plug in MP3 and Ipods, iphones. Searched and searched for a unit that holds more than 1 CD- we have a lot of CDs and want to keep using them. Even have some old cassettes and we can still play them as well. And we mostly listen to A radio so nice to have everything in 1 package. And the remote works but.... the buttons are awfully small and it seems the designers really didn't figure out how WE would like to access the buttons - wish the radio (called tuner) button wasn't buried in the middle of some other buttons and it took a while to figure out how to access AM, FM, etc (just keep poking tuner). CD changer is a bit noisy but we are glad to have a multi-cd changer so we aren't fooling w cds all the time. Overall sound is decent once I figured out how to adjust the treble. I get annoyed at these engineers who like to loan too many functions in a single button - and sometimes wish I could adjust treble n bass from the remote - maybe we can but haven't figured out how yet. Price was good too. overall good unit.

Fantastic System!!
My husband didn't order this I did, his wife. I'm a little older so I have many cassette tapes that I refuse to throw out. I hunted forever to find a system with all the components that I wanted: cassette deck, 5 CD player, AM/FM Radio, IPhone/IPod dock, MP3 and USB playback for all my music! I couldn't wait to hook this up and try it out, yes ladies it wasn't difficult at all! It has great sound until 2 notches from Max, then it gets a little distorted, but I don't plan on having it that loud anyway, just wanted to test it. The dog and cat went running lol! I mainly use it while I'm walking on the treadmill and my kids would love to get their hands on it, luckily they have moved out so I know they won't be cranking it up while I'm not home!

great bookshelf system
I love this system. I play it every morning for an hour. I use the multichanger cd player solely so far. That's why I bought it. I like the sound. It was easy to set up. I'm 63 and don't like messing around with electronics. So I was pleased.

Excellent!
I bought this a little over a year ago and, for reasons unknown even to me, I only recently finally set this up. I LOVE this system! The sound is excellent. I could swear there is a string quartet in my living room! I am thrilled! Beethoven, Mozart, and a few other of my favorites are now again blasting through my house. This replaced a very old, very expensive system that died after many years of use. This is every bit as good if not better!

Not so much...
It's okay, that is about the best I can give it. Why on earth would you manufacture a 5 CD changer without a Shuffle mode?? Seriously? It has "Random", but that is for one CD at a time, not randomly shuffling the 5 CD's so you don't have to listen to the same CD all the way through, then changing to another CD. Not happy with that. And the other thing that drives me crazy is the constant read out with the thing is plugged in. All the functions continuously read out instead of simply going to standby and sitting there quietly. I kept having to unplug it or go nuts. And it's pretty big as well, not what I'd advertise as "Book Shelf Stereo". Mine is now living in it's box in my basement as a $310.00 lesson in Buyer Beware.

I do know when a piece of music sounds good and when it is distorted
I am not someone who knows how to tune sounds to the correct pitch nor do I have any idea what a subwoofer does. I do know when a piece of music sounds good and when it is distorted. I have recently had surgery and this system is in use for a number of hours a day. The sound is wonderful to me. Classical music is crisp and clear and full. Other music is enjoyable to hear. I do recommend this system.
