Tight clustered variety, with excellent heat tolerance. Clone 06 was selected for its improved drought tolerance. Produces a dense, rich wine, with notes of blackberry, cooked plums, and black cherry. Well adapted to alluvial soils and warm climates. Best utilized for a dry red table wine, but also will make an excellent port. Pairs well with steak fillet, grilled vegetables, or chocolate.
