Good lamp, recommended but a few issues
I am sort of a flashlight nerd with all the torches I use for various tasks including hobbies, cycling, work around the house, running, ultra trail running. And this is actually a pretty good light. I'm torn between giving 3 or 4 stars and 3.5 would be my preference. I have comparable headlamps - Petzl, Black Diamond and others. My gold standard for a general purpose headlamp is the Black Diamond Sprinter but it is twice the price. But I saw lots of great reviews on this one so I decided to give it a try. Here is my review.Pros -USB charging - very convenient to have this feature in a headlamp if this is what you want. Others have listed this as a 'con' because it doesn't take batteries. Then don't buy it, but don't list this as a bad feature of this torch! You know what you are getting.Bright led output - beam is very homogenous in spot mode with adequate spill in the periphery. The diffuser works quite well and would make for a nice area light for inside a tent. Not a super bright headlamp but more than adequate brightness for most apps.Light modes - multiple, a plus, but not granular and not intuitive, a net negative, more on this below.Waterproof - haven't tested, but great feature for outdoors use.Battery level indicator - has one on the battery compartmentCons -Control button - this button is a pain to use but in all fairness, you won't have it turn on accidentally in your bag. There is a definitive, tactile click to it. For a right handed person you turn it on with some difficulty. Using the left thumb is easier but in either case you must cover the lamp output with your had to get a good enough grip and can't really see the light output while you are turning on or adjusting output. I have read that it is impossible to do with gloves and I would believe it.Light modes - I have some definite complaints with this. The brightness sequence goes 'off', 'medium', 'high', 'low', 'off'. Why not cycle them in a more intuitive manner so you click or hold until you get to the desired brightness? And moreover, you can only adjust the light level the first time you turn the light on. After a few seconds, the next time you push the button, it just turns the light off. This isn't a big deal, but doesn't allow you to adjust the light without turning the thing off. Because of the way the lamp is faded off when you turn it off, it is obvious they use some microcontroller to control the features so why don't they use a mode control similar to the Black Diamond Sprinter or others. This lamp could easily have infinitely controlled level like the Sprinter (ramps up and down with hold, off or on with quick click), but the did not do that! This alone costs this torch one star. So there are only really three light levels and they put them in a weird order. That could have been fixed just in software! So why not do that and make it an almost great lamp.Comfort - once again, comparing it to the Sprinter, the headpiece just isn't as comfortable. I think it is flat and should be slightly rounded to fit your head. Minor, but noticeable compared to others. Not a big deal. I could probably fix it somehow.Bulk - This lamp is of 'normal' bulk for its performance. I would have to rate it as bulkier than the BD Sprinter but then the Sprinter is a really compact, light and comfortable light in these respects.Strap - OK - is a little bulky and a little extra work to adjust but I understand it also fits a bike helmet so this is might be a plus so I'm not taking off any points for this.Charging port - Micro USB - nice to have, as I have mentioned, however, it takes a micro USB plug with a narrow housing else it won't fit into the recessed socket. It does, however, come with the proper plug and some plugs you already have may fit or could be whittled a bit to fit. Not taking off points for this, just noted. For the money it is a pretty good value for a USB rechargeable. The button is a pain but won't accidentally activate in your bag. The light modes could be way better just in software so that is a disappointment.Once again, I do like it and it is a good to great value and I will use it and would buy it again.Addendum:I retrospect, I probably should bump it up to 4 stars for the value. The con's above aren't so bad. I did manage to lose the microusb cable it came with (In all fairness, they give you TWO of the special USB micro cables). I had to take a dremel tool and cut away some plastic on a standard size male USB plug so it would fit the lamp. It's easy to misplace a USB cable since I generally think of them as interchangeable and this one really isn't. But you could also use a soldering iron, probably to melt away some plastic from the distal area of the male plug to make it fit. Not a big problem but don't leave for an out of town race with the thing uncharged and without a plug that will fit it. The cable is really short and light. You could probably find a way to use electrical tape or a velcro strap and tape the short cable to your lamp so the two won't get separated.

Wears well
I’ve used this product many times and in every case I have I was thankful I had this product, while headlamps may not be the most dazzling of tools it may just be one that you regret not having anytime full dexterity of both hands are needed and the battery life is from my experience very good and wouldn’t doubt that it lasts the stated amount of hours however in my use which is usually using this light at medium to high brightness I can go a month or so with moderate use.

Didn't even last a year.
This was one of the best rechargeable headlamps I have used. The battery would last a ten hour shift no problem. For the price it was worth it. Unfortunately after about 6 months it started to give me problems. Then at about 8 months it failed. The wiring insulation is cheap. I wanted to see what was wrong and the wires were cracked in multiple spots and finally one broke. This was caused only with putting on and removing the headlamp. The solder joints were solid but the wires were frayed at the joint. The wire insulation is cheap. It caused a critical fail. The button turned gummy and almost useless and had to be removed. However, at the price point, I would still recommend for moderate or occasional use. I would not recommend for any professional environment. I just don't think something at any price point should fail within a year of use.

First time headlamp user : Specifically using it for running!
Keep in mind this is my first headlamp purchased and used ever. My goal was to use this for running. am gone most of the day and really only get to get my training runs after 8pm. In the winter its pretty dark by then so to avoid getting hit by a car and see whats on the roads/trails I purchased this. There was not a lot of feedback about running so I wanted to throw my two cents in.PRO'sI thought the battery would bounce but I does not. I actually forgot it was there. It fit on my head well and it also fit over my hat hat. Keep in mind there is a shadow cast by the bill of the hat but it worked just fine. Had to look down a little bit.Confortable to run in (Major plus for me)Comfortable on my hat (Even forgot it was on there)CON'sIts not as bright as i thought. If you watch the video keep in mind its about twice as bright as it seems in the video but you really can see about the range you get. In its defense it gets the job done.Observation , Nor Pro or Con due to I would need much more time to have the device. After I received it I used it for about 45 min is the house on the brightest setting playing around, then went outside and ran 5K, came back it and was playing around with it more on the entire time. All in all out of the box I used it for 2 hours and I didn't make a dent. I am confident I could easily all the time I need for night runs.I was not given this for review, I am just a runner in need of a light. Not that I would say no to a free item for review but be prepared for honesty even if its bad.

Great for running at night!
This product is great! I use it while jogging at night and it light's my path and does not bobble. Not only is it comfortable, but the rechargeable battery pack is very convenient and you cannot tell that it is there while wearing it. Not only is this headlamp well built, but it will essentially pay for itself by not having to purchase batteries over it's lifetime.

good value headlamp
its a well made product, although the brightest setting apparently will switch to a lower brightness after 3 minutes. Its not that easy to work out the brightness settings. sometimes clicking the on/off button you get a low setting, then normal setting then off, other times its low , normal, very low, very bright then off.not a major issue as its just a few more clicks to get the required brightness.this is a product purchased for my wife and she didnt really want the over head strap, so when I looked at the description it showed this was removable, however I cannot remove it, or at least cannot work out how to remove it.overall pretty happy

Great head torch!
This a great head torch, the light from it is great and its perfect for camping. One thing though, people WILL see you coming from a distance but that is what you want. The only small complaint I have is that the switching mechanism is a bit tricky but apart from that I think its a really good piece of kit.
