how long will the heat provided by the pad last, and how high the temperature the activated pad can produce?

I usually fall asleep with it on but I’d say it’s still slightly warm after about 15 - 20 minutes. But I have no idea how you’d go about measuring the exact temperature. It’s comfortable to have on your closed eyelids.

can I use these with my contacts in?

No. Because these are warming they will not be good for the contacts and that will not be good for your eyes
