Works. Drive number pieces of plastic easily fall out. The fan is not the best quality. For this price level I expect a Noctua.

This 8 bay enclosure fits perfectly in my 2U mini-ITX rack server. I could have gone for one of the denser models (such as the 16 bay), but it would be pointless with the installed SAS 9300-8I HBA. The dual SFF-8643 cabling really shines in this confined rack build. Using 8x 4TB SSDs and unRAID ZFS pool. I debated TrueNAS, but coming from previous unRAID systems, and having 3x spinning drives in this build, frankly the complexity (and learning curve) of TrueNAS just didn't seem worth it to me. Upgraded the fan to Noctua.

Holds 2.5” SAS drives just fine and connects them all at full 12 gbps. Built very sturdy and all metal. Latches on the drive trays are very light and pop open occasionally, but that doesn’t disconnect the drive, and you can just fold it back in when convenient. I added labels to remember which drive is where. EDIT: this is the specific model I have: MB508SP-B

The product has really bad built quality and also malfunctioning. Trays are opening by itself for no reason.
