Q: How many goldfish can I humanely transport in this bottle?

It’s a quart. So I think humane for short distances would be 1 per cup so 4. For more than an hour then 1 per pint so 2. For more than a day then 1 in the whole container.

Q: How long does this keep water cold?

Not long. Water turns room temperature in about 30 - 45 minutes. I work in/at an aquatics center. Average temp is 82 degrees. With ice water stays cool for aprox. 1 1/2 hours.

Q: could you wash them on the top rack of the dishwasher?

Max temperature: 100°C/212°F. I have washed mine on the bottom rack many times without the lid on with no issues.

7! Tritan Tritan is a tough, clear copolyester plastic. According to the manufacturer, Eastman Tritan, it’s BpA free and made without the use of any bisphenols. They also say that it has no estrogenic or androgenic activity. However, a quick search on the internet throws some doubt on this. Eastman Tritan were involved in a court case against a scientist who claimed that Tritan did contain estrogenic chemicals. Although Eastman Tritan won this case, sources report that their testing methods were faulty, and that research was at least partly funded by a chemical industry body. So far, it seems that some research appears to show that Tritan is a safe plastic, although this research may not be independent. Err on the side of caution and use it with cold liquids only. And like any other plastic, never use it in the microwave.
