SUNFOUNDER Mega R3 Compatible with Arduino (Mega Case)

Very good quality at a reasonable price. I've very pleased with this case for my Arduino Mega 2560. However, it was a devil to assemble even with so few separate pieces. The instructions made no sense (just a scrappy piece of paper with sketches and a few numbers) but this didn't matter too much as, looking at the bits and pieces out of the box, it was quite obvious it would fit together. The main problem during assmebly was that the various slots in the casing were extremely tight and, in the end, I had to (very carefully) physically bend different parts of my Mega 2560 board to make it fit. For a while, I could get one side of the board in, but not the other. Then, when I gave more attention to the problem side, the first side would pop out of its slots again. I even found it hard to peel away the protective paper from the pieces of casing before starting the assembly. This perhaps doesn't bode well for my embryonic career as a robotics fiddle-about-erer. But I still give this product five stars. Now it's assembled, with my board safely inside, it not only looks great but it has a really solid feel. I reckon you could drop it out of a window and the board would still survive.

I use the enclosure with an "ELEGOO MEGA 2560 R3". The enclosure is very useful. It helps in avoiding short circuits or damages to the MEGA2560. I found the enclosure well made. The instructions are a little bit difficult to decipher but the SunFounder website shows a photo that helped me to assemble the enclosure correctly. The only problem I had was with the position of the ICSP hole. It was slightly off-centre and a little bit too small (I use and AVR AVRISP mkII). I had to file enclosure to remove some material. Not the end of the world especially considering that who buys an Arduino-compatible board is likely to have some DIY skills. I recommend the SunFounder Mega 2560 Case Enclosure. It is an affordable solution that does what promises well.

Having a desk full of clutter, tools, soldering iron etc I prefer to have all my development boards mounted inside an enclosure if possible. Spent a while looking for a case for the Mega 2560 before stumbling on this one. The SunFounder Mega 2560 has excellent build quality. Assembly is a breeze and the end result looks awesome. However although there is a slot for the ICSP connection I was unable to get my AVRISP mkII to fit. Not a problem if your using the Arduino boot loader but if you need to reprogram the device then you may need to dissemble before doing so. Four stars rather than five only because of the connector issue.

This product was bought to fit an Elegoo MEGA2560. Apart from the fiddly removal of the protective paper the assembly is straight forward if approached correctly. However my board does not fit! The exploded diagram clearly shows a slot in the back panel intended to take the 'tail' of the board which is numbered for odd pins 31-53 plus GND. The product which I have received does not have this slot and subsequently the board will not fit; being some 2mm too long.

Great case for the Mega 2560 Arduino. I actually have the Elegoo one in rather than the sunfounder but as they are all clones it fits perfectly. Easy to put together and everything important is accessible.

I use my Arduino regular as most users would but found it had no enclosure to keep it safe while moving around. Looked around and found lots of ok cases in different colours looks etc and then came across these, It came flat packed and protected with paper on the outside faces. Went together like a dream in 5 minutes (remove all protective paper before assembly as awkward after) Looks great once inside with access to all connections you would need (including reset) I got another for my other board I use for testing and if I get another Arduino I will buy again. Highly recommended.

Got this for a ELEGOO MEGA 2560 R3 and while it does work fine once it's assembled I found it somewhat difficult to assemble, there are just too many small pieces of plastic that need to be aligned before it all fits together nicely. You will probably also end up needing to take it apart partially at least once when you realise that you missed a part. You will probably end up cracking it in at least one place before you get everything in place correctly, luckily it was only in one unnoticeable place for me and it's still structurally sound. This is probably one of the cheaper cases so you get what you pay for really.

The 8 pieces of perspex are covered on both sides by sticky brown paper. The edges of the paper are very difficult to raise. I chipped my nails doing so, and finally resorted to a blunt knife. That took over half an hour and is the reason for only 4 stars. Actual assembly is mainly simple. To fit the top without the reset button and brace falling out: 1) lid upside down with button/brace in their holes. 2) Assemble everything else, 3) Grip it all with one hand (holding the long sides in place). 4) You can then turn it all upside down without it falling apart. 5) Place it atop the lid (with the two little pieces upright in their holes). 6) Slight jiggling to get lid and sides to mesh. 7) Grip it all in one hand, you should now just need to fit the final 4 screws. 8) Leave screws a bit loose till you've fitted any shield/connectors, as tolerances around pins are fairly tight. Looks good once finished and I managed to fit my display shield no problem.

Ce case de SunFounder pour ma carte ELEGOO MEGA 2560 R3, était parfait ! Dommage que le produit est arrivé avec les surfaces de l'acrylique plein de rayures et salissures... SANS SON PAPIER de protection. C'est INADMISSIBLE !! Tu achètes pour du neuf, et on t’envoie de l'occasion malmenée... Un manque complet de PROFESSIONNALISME du vendeur !! Les choses il faut les dire! (je mets une étoile pour le case et basta!)

I used it for a project and it works great

Ricevuto nei tempi e acquistato ad un prezzo decente. Devo dire di essere ritornato bambino quando mi dilettavo nel modellismo. Il case arriva smontato ma completo di tutti i pezzi necessari alla sua costruzione. Gli incastri sono perfetti, così come l'allineamento con la scheda e i connettori. Accesso facile ai pin. Si vede bene la scheda e i led, come se fosse nuda, ma invece la protegge benissimo. Fare attenzione ai due piccolissimo pezzi di plastica contenuti nel kit, in quanto uno permettere di accedere al pulsante di reset, e il secondo fà da rinforzo al tutto evitando che premendo troppo al centro si vada a romperlo. La cosa in realtà la vedo complicata in quanto lo spessore del plexiglass è generoso, e date le dimensioni il tutto si mostra davvero compatto.

・使用環境 ELEGOO Mega 2560 The Most Complete Starter Kit（Amazon販売名：ELEGOO Arduino用のMega2560スタータキット最終版）に付属のArduino Mega2560互換機にて使用。 ・組み立てについて ほぼほぼぴったりハマるように作られており、パーツ同士の接合部やArduinoのピンソケット部にはほとんどクリアランスがありません。かといってケースのパーツ同士（底板と側面板、また天板を支えるための支柱パーツなど）は、ネジ止めしない限りがっちりハマっているわけでもないので、組み立て時は側面板が斜めにならないように、ピンセットや指でホールドしながら天板をハメることになります。この作業がなかなか難しい。 ・装着感 Arduino本体はがっちり固定されるので、組み立てさえうまくいけばUSBの差込程度でどうこうなるようなものではないと思います。USBホストシールドを装着してみましたが、Arduino本体のピンソケットが天板のふちギリギリまで出ている形なので、干渉はなく、スムーズに使用可能でした。ただし、シールドをはずす際にはゆっくりとはずしてやらないと、ほかの購入者の方のレビューにもある通り若干しなりますので雑に扱わないよう注意は必要です。（これは天板とArduino本体の間を支える部品が実質支柱パーツ1本であるため） ・総評 製品は2021/10/3現在、工作精度も高くとても満足いくものでした。Sunfounder社様はいい仕事をしていると思います。（ただし私の購入ロットが運よく当たりであった可能性は否定できませんが......。） パーツを押さえながら作業したり、正しい角度で慎重にパーツを挿入したりしなければならないという点で、組み立て難度的には不器用な方には辛い面がありそうです。特に支柱パーツはArduino本体基板の上に支えなしで立てるだけで、天板の穴に上手く差し込まなければならないため苦労しそうな気がします。 しかし、これらの組み立ての不自由さを含めてもなお、ケースの出来、および信頼性は高いものなので、購入満足度は高いと思います。（何より見た目もかっこよくなります） ・追記 ケース天面の企業ロゴは透かしや彫りではなく、くり抜きのものでした。また、商品は同サイズの化粧箱に入れられており、細かなパーツ類はジップロック的な袋に梱包されて一緒に入れられていました。傷等はありませんでした。
