DS-002 Stainless Steel Soft-Catch Magnetic Door Stop in Brushed Satin Nickel, Wall Mount-2 Pack

I thought this was like one of the ‘soft touch’ latches where you push it in slightly then it pops out and the door opens. This is not that. This door stop releases to the extended position when you close the door, then when you open the door and the two parts make contact, it pushes to the fully retracted position. The only time this is very magnetic is in retracted position when the ball makes contact with the magnets. Once it was installed and I watched it work, it made perfect sense. It works very well for us. Some reviews mention the latch being too strong and you have to yank hard to get the door free. We did not have that problem at all. It is not going to blow shut on its own but it isn’t super strong either. It has just the right amount of magnetic pull.Full disclosure, this above applies to the second one we installed. The first one was weak, you had to get the door set just so or it would not hold. I contacted the merchant and asked if there was a way to replace the magnet. I was expecting guidance on a fix or maybe a new magnet that we could swap out. The merchant sent us a brand new everything, and they were very fast. The replacement door stop was exactly what we needed.I recommend this product and highly recommend using this merchant.

I made the "mistake" of greasing the hinges on some doors which got rid of the squeak, but the doors would not stay shut. Doorstops & folded up cardboard certainly worked, but was unsightly and a pain to constantly move around to work the doors. I found these magnetic stops and figured I would give them a try. These are very easy to install and work fantasically well. The "soft close" fearture even takes out some of the rattle that you would get from a solid stop and once the magnet "grabs" is keeps the doors closed. No more bumping into half-closed doors at night. Wish I had found these a long time ago. Plan to get even more and install them throughout the houseAlso...one of the units seemed to have a weak magnet so I was concerned that it might loose it's ability to keep the door closed over time. I emailed the company late on a Saturday evening at the start of a 3-day weekend to see if I could get a replacement magnet expecting to maybe hear something back by the following Tuesday. I got an email in a little over an hour and a replacment unit was sent out & arrived within a few days. You couldn't expect any better customer service than that!

This is great. Door hits it and it gently compresses a bit then holds it open rock-solid. I was worried it would hit with a clunk. Nope. Nice gentle impact.I've got it mounted on a solid baseboard molding (1/2") and a solid door, so I can't address the problems with mounting on wall board or a hollow core door, but in my installation the magnet is just about the perfect hold. Easy to break, but solid when holding the door open.I replaced one of those kick-down things, which I always hated. This is so much better. Wish I knew about this thing years ago.Only issue for me: I dont like the stainless. Wish it came in other darker finishes, deally an oil-rubberd bronze, or even antiqued brass. It's a bit glaring but it works so well, I'll live with it.

Works great for my bathroom door. Easy to install with screws into wood door and baseboard. My box did not come with the 3M tape as advertised but I preferred to use screws anyway. When you open the box and lay out the parts for installation the magnet feels way too strong but after you install it, the magnet is the perfect strength and won’t damage door or wall. Both components have shock absorbers which is really nice. Product is well built. I love it!

My garage door opens in to the garage which is ~4 inches down from the hallway. Coupled with being a heavier door, this led to needing a paint can or some other such object to hold it open. After 2 years of that, I finally decided to buy something - the magnetic doorstop. The installation would be easy and fast if the instructions for the shorter part (Part B) were clearer. It asks you to put a flat head screwdriver into it and turn. Well...there's three holes..and it says nothing about jamming said object into the side wall to get it to unscrew. I didn't even know if it would have threads or be a plate of some type. To hopefully save someone else time, I'll upload a few photos to show the insides of Part B.The magnet is quite strong. It will likely work for most doors. For me, I have to yank the door to get it to unlatch. I may follow another reviewers comment and replace the magnet (inside Part B by the way) to something lighter...just to you know, save my arms.

The media could not be loaded.  I researched many products before settling on this door stop/holder. I have a courtyard door that will not stay open and blows closed if it's windy- not good for the dogs. I wanted an inconspicuous door stop. This is a well-designed and engineered piece. I attached one side to the door, and the other side to the wall. When I open the door, the magnet catches the door stop. There is a hydraulic action that allows the door stop to flex if the door slams open.One part I attached with ease into the wooden door. The other part I screwed into masonry. The directions and parts included made it quite simple. I did use a drill with the provided screw anchors to secure the part against the stucco.

We have a large heavy door that leads to our garage; it used to slam shut and hit us all the time. It made bringing in groceries a nightmare. After some research, we found this and gave it a shot. Works perfectly! My husband installed it and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Looks good. Simple to Install. Engineered very well, with the "hydraulic" effect. Magnets are strong enough to hold open self-closing doors, but do not require a feat of strength to disengage the door.

Great door stop. I installed this outside on my back door two years ago and it woks just as good as the first day. It’s been through two winters and three kids worth of abuse. No rust either. Highly recommend.

it works well and after watching a Youtube video I knew how to install, it doesn't come with instructions.

Clearly this is not the product as described.

This thing is garbage, not at all what I was expecting 😒
