Can this handle charging through the negative output instead of the charging negative pad?

You can't really do this, because you lose the charging protection. Essentially you will be able to charge at whatever the full output is... since you're using the same mosfets. I've tested this personally on this unit, and similarly-priced models from other vendors. It's a shame, because I'm trying to use this with an alternator and I am starting to think BMS is not possible. I will have to get a charge management controller.

It specifies charge voltage of 15v. can i use an 18v dc? will it regulate it for proper charging voltage and current? thanks.

solar positive and battery positive go together on the battery and solar ground goes to battery charge ground on the bms
