​I needed a quick, reliable diagnostic tool to keep in my main toolkit, and the Launch Creader 3001 is exactly that. With multiple vehicles in the family, I'm constantly dealing with a pesky check engine light (CEL), and this device has been fantastic. ​It's so easy to use—truly "plug and play." It gives you fast, accurate fault codes, the DTC lookup is handy, and the live data readout is a huge bonus at this price point. Best of all, once I make a repair, I can easily clear the fault codes and turn off the CEL. ​It covers the basics exceptionally well and is way faster than pulling out my expensive, complex scanner for a simple code check. ​Highly recommend this for any serious DIYer or home mechanic who needs quick and simple code-reading and clearing capabilities. A great tool for the money!

After paying out over £1000 for repairs on our Renault Scenic I was less than happy when we had problems starting her soon after getting her back from the garage! Rather than take the car back for another expensive investigation straight away I thought it was worth having a look myself and remembered a roadside mechanic using a scanner to identify an engine problem before. The CR3001 was on offer and seemed worth a try at the price. The scanner arrived and I was very pleased with the build quality and size of the display screen. Once I’d located the on board data port (under the coffee holder tray) it was straightforward to plug in the scanner cable and wait a few seconds for the machine to boot up. The CR3001 offers a simple main menu, easily navigated via the clearly labelled control buttons. In the photographs I’ve selected the Diagnose option and then the Data Stream display. This allows real time monitoring of various engine performance parameters. You’ll see that there are a variety of other options available. Thankfully there were no Error Codes being generated by the engine management system this time around, but had there been then the scanner itself provides translation of the numerical code into a description of the issue. In future I’m confident that like the roadside mechanic previously I’ll be able to alert the garage to the issue that needs addressing, rather than going in blind and having to rely entirely on their prognosis of the problem. As a novice in scanning I was much encouraged by the ease of use of the CR3001 and impressed with the range of options and sub menus that are offered. The large control buttons are easy to use and navigation of the options is assisted by the colour screen. The length of the scanner cable is sufficient to enable clear sight of the screen whilst sitting comfortably in the driving seat. I’m pleased to report that after fully charging the battery and dealing with some water ingress after heavy rain the starting problems have disappeared. I’m still glad I purchased the CR3001 scanner though and pleased that I didn’t discover any other problem to deal with!

The item is fine and perfectly working but one thing I dont like and frustrate me is the plastic cover is not sealed anymore looks like an returned item by other costumers.

Great bit of kit. Prefer these to the bluetooth ones as they're quicker to use, don't have to pair them with your phone as then download the app, and download your car. Live data very handy.

What an amazing little obd2 scanner! With the functions it has from code scanning, i/m readiness, freeze frame data, o2 sensor testing. It is brilliant for the money! Compared to other brands this definitely comes out on top. As a mechanic I find this would be amazing for people starting out or even at home DIY. I bought this product but didn't use it straight away. When I came to use it, there was a fault. It was outside the Amazon return window. Sometimes the screen is clear and you can use it but other times it's the Matrix with corrupted text. Tried to email and phone Launch regarding the display fault to see if they could help, but they never answered their customer service phone or replied to email. Therefore, I will not use Launch products again as seems not to be supported in my opinion.

Works but there is no link on the website (as advertised) to download an update to the firmware to include later vehicle models which effectively makes the unit obsolete unless you are only diagnosing older vehicles This is very disappointing as the unit has the ability to function well if updated. The description is therefore misleading in terms on updating. I have emailed the manufacturer but as yet (2 months ago) I have not received an acknowledgment or any message. Be aware of this if you want to use the unit on the more modern vehicles

This scanner worked out of the box on my 2004 Ford Mondeo and should work on most newer cars equipped with OBD2. It showed I had no error codes which is great. If it detects error codes they can be cleared. You will need to download the product manual from eninfo dot x431 dot com This device can decode standard DTC codes used by vehicle manufacturers to identify problems. As with all OBD2 readers you will need to understand the results but the documentation is available. P-Codes, B-codes, C-Codes and U-codes are catered for. The controls are robust and good casing makes the device quite safe to drop. A USB cable and input on the device is provided for updates etc. Overall this device works well and is easy to use. I would recommend and for the price and functions I give it 4.5 stars. FXV300

Launch CReader 3001 Instantly Read Fault Code on a Sold in Australia 03/2006 BK Mazda 3. It then Successfully Cleared the Codes, Turning off the Check Engine Light. I was able to do this straight out of the Packaging without reading the Manual. Tool is Cheap, Simple and Intruitive to Use.

This has to be one of the best values for the money. Its very compact but its construction feels durable enough for daily use. If it doesn't power on with your car's OBD2 port, that's most likely an issue with the car, not the scan tool. I've used it numerous times to scan and clear codes successfully, it will even scan some medium duty trucks.
