how is this different from electrical cleaner?

Some electrical cleaners can dissolve, and otherwise compromise, plastic parts in the electrical system of the objects being cleaned, thus rendering them useless. This product claims to be safe for such plastic parts. Most electrical equipment nowadays have plastic parts inside which are critical to their operation, therefore "Plastic Safe" cleaners are a prudent choice.

Yes it's unscented but it IS contact cleaner and therefore has a chemical smell that's a lot like 111-trichloroethane.
