Q: How do you use these? I was under the impression it would fit inside the syringe but that does not seem to be the case. Help a beginner out?

So these attach to a syringe (there is a universal Luer Fitting attachment on syringes). It will attach to the outside of the syringe and you can push fluid or what ever you are trying to filter through it into another container, Hope this helps.

Q: How many times can one be used?

technically just once if your are filtering for sterility.

Q: I know the membrane is pdfv but are they hydrophobic or hydrophilic?

They are meant to filter organic substances. Oils and such. Depending on if u need 0.45 or 0.22 micron, water would filter just fine.

Q: Does this filter have Luer Lock fittings on both ends? or is one end a slip fitting?

The prefilter end is luer, the post filter side is slip tip. I have been using these for years to filter oils n never had a blow out. Just make sure its snug
