Bottle says "available only from vet". How is this being sold via Amazon? Is it a knock-off?

My vet reported that, "You can purchase Dasuquin on Amazon that appears to be supplied by Nutramax, but Nutramax confirmed they do not supply Amazon with their product, so its origin is unclear." I was especially interested as my dog seemed to develop a skin reaction after taking my Amazon-purchased Dasequin. I plan to investigate with Amazon how they can ensure the safety of this product if Nutramax says they do not supply them with it.

I've read the ingredients and don't know enough about them to tell the difference between the cosequin ds +msm and the dasuquin. Can you help me?

I've never used the Cosequin brand for my dog so I will give a comparison between the Dasuquin and the Dasuquin with MSM. My dog started limping badly and was diagnosed with x-rays as having arthritis in his shoulder. I started him on the "regular" Dasuquin for 2 bottles. It made a big difference for him, going from a full limp which was hard to watch, to a slight limp. Then I tried the Dasuquin with MSM next and wow, what a world of difference. He has not had a limp AT ALL after the first 2 or 3 weeks and he's now on his 4th bottle. Limp free, and since I have arthritis in my hands and know the pain, limp free to me means pain free. I will not change brands and take a chance on anything else. It's Dasuquin with MSM only. My dog weighs 40 pounds so I gave him the 2 tablets/day dose. I've maintained that dose, not going down to the 1 tablet/day maintenance level. Once in a while I've give him 1 tab/day but don't want to take any chances with reducing what works for him. I see absolutely no reason to change brands or dosage. Don't change what works is my motto.
