Love love love. Worth every penny compared to my cheaper one. This still looks brand new after daily use of several months. Love the purple colour. Great cushioning, really thick and comfortable. Took a while to break in to stop it being slippery when you get sweaty so would recommend going the salt scrub instructions!

The mat was recommended by a friend as a replacement for my old mat which was slowly disintegrating. It's really robust & tho brand new I haven't found it particularly slippery (have used a bit of chalk as insurance). No unpleasant smell & really grips the floor which is a big improvement. So far, really happy with it & think it will last longer than my previous mat. 4 stars instead of 5 purely becos it's not as bright & zingy a colour as is hoped.

It is a good sized mat. The colour is pleasing. I followed the care instructions, salting with rock salt and scrubbing. It has also spent several afternoons out in the garden in the sun. It was slippy and frustrating to begin with. Especially as it seems to 'draw' my hands and feet adding to the slipping in down dog etc. However, patience seemed to be key for me. The comment on the item about focussing on drawing energy in, rather tha pushing out did help. As did some chalk balls from Decathlon just to help with sunsalutations and bridge pose. I have not used it daily, probably 2-3 times a week for 1-1.5 hours each time since April and now, early June it is settled and I have no issues. I am happy that I can look forwards to lifetime of use as 6 months on my previous mat has made it bitty and worn. Look at it as an investment. It is a lovely finish and the thickness suits me fine, but it did require some attention.

As others have said and I foolishly ignored, if you're using this mat in any trace of humidity or with the barest hint of sweating/working hard, you will slip and slide all over the place. Listen to the reviewers!!! This mat has no tackiness/grip whatsoever. You're better off using the ratty spare mats in your studio!

I like this mat, it as a good heavy duty/robust quality to it. It replaced a relatively cheap mat i'd had for about 15 years. Despite other reviews I found that I didn't need to wash/scrub my new mat, perhaps because I don't do 'hot' yoga. Four stars because of the price.

I researched this extensively before investing in a good yoga mat and I am happy I did. This is a great quality mat, thick enough but not too heavy, long enough to fit tall people, and it is beautiful too. There is absolutely no smell to it, right our of the bag. I only used it once so far and it definitely is not slippery. However I do not sweet and don't do hot yoga either. For those hesitating about this model, you can go ahead and trust the 700+ reviews who rated it as almost perfect ;) It is not very light but I would not rate it as heavy either. I carry it around so this was an important feature. I decided to invest in a great bag to go with it, and I don't regret the investment. The Brando Sports Yoga Mat Bag With Water Bottle Pocket, Full Length Zip, 100% Cotton, fits it perfectly, with enough room left for towel etc. And it is organic cotton too. Since it is quite long (I am just over 5'8'' and I fit tightly head to toe, no extra space), it is obviously heavier because of that. And the 6mm is a true 6mm, not less; not reversible, with clear up/down sides. The color is absolutely awesome, just a bit darker than the picture, but still a lavender shade. I am thinking that if the cleaning product is lavender scented, the overall feeling will be great. As a perk on my end, it was great to see my kids test it too, they both fit very well on it, at the same time! It's a pity Manduka doesn't do kid sized mats. Regular kids mats are so toxic!! So if I had to buy again, I would still buy this mat. Hopefully it will last long.

I went for the light purple because it was half price, but I wish I haven't done that. It can get dirty easily (too light) The thing that really annoyed me is a small crack right in the middle before even getting to use it. But for the price, it is not bad. It is heavy and I like it. As for the grip, I don't sweat a lot, and it is brand new, so the grip is manageable. I am hoping it will break in soon.
