plan to buy many such kits expect to spend a great deal of time weaving before you will get one ...
I've never owned a nylon, single-tailed whip before, so this review is as much a review them as it is of Ardour Crafts. I wanted to try one of these paracord jobs and found that the blogs on this product were right on the money. They are more weather-resistant than the leather, don't dry out, don't mildew, etc. but they don't have that leather feel and smell to them. You might be surprised at how much you will notice those missing items. The nylon of the whip handle is very slick -- the first time I threw the whip I really threw it: about twenty feet downrange. Thankfully, Ardour has woven a strap into the handle that you can put your hand into and secure the whip to you; it's not just for decoration. The nylon whip has a string fall which, does seem to make it easier to crack, but that could be a result of greater expectations. The Ardour whip is extremely well woven. I was surprised to find how many do-it-yourself, paracord whip kits were available on the internet. Given that fact, some might feel they can make one for less that you can buy one from Ardour. If you go this route, plan to buy many such kits and expect to spend a great deal of time weaving before you will get one of the same quality craftsmanship as my Ardour whip. For myself, still haunted by the memory of the lanyards I wove in summer camp, I was very pleased with what I received from Ardour for the price I paid. To me, it's worth it to spend more time learning to use the whip rather than weaving it.

Cracks well, but I know it won't last a long time
I am a triathlete and I purchased this bull whip so I can run safely in the streets without being chased, stalked, bitten, or otherwise harassed by aggressive dogs that run loose. It works for that purpose. I crack it, making a load noise in the air, and they go away. However, what I don't like is that it has way more wear and tear than it should for the few times I've cracked it.I think it will be fine for my purposes, but I must caution anyone who's thinking about purchasing one for learning tricks, performing arts, actually herding cattle, etc. I'm afraid it won't survive those things for very long.

This whip is bananas!!!
This whip is amazing for the price, not that there’s anything wrong with the quality. The nylon is tough, yet amazing to handle. It’s lighter than a whole leather whip so you might have to swing harder. I should also note that I’m just starting out and that my opinion holds no merit in the professional world of whip cracking.

Nice quality, very stiff and tight
Nice quality, very stiff and tight, when you use it its starts to work and bend nicely. Don't for get to buy or do proper and good "crackers/poppers". Whip includes mainly some extra "falls" and "fall hitch".
