Great FRS radio at a budget price point
I have used other radios from Baofeng but I haven't used any of their dedicated FRS radios until these. These don't transmit as far as GMRS but they also don't require the FCC license needed to operate GMRS. The do have limited range but are extremely simple to operate. I didn't even need to get out the manual to configure and put them to use. First you install the rechargeable battery and replace the cover, optionally install the belt clip, and then charge them with the included USB cable before taking to the field. When using them, you simply select the channel you want to use on both radios, set your volume and alert preferences and then press the button when you want to talk. You can enable a confirmation beep if wanted. I was able to talk to my kids on the other side of my neighborhood with it (about 0.4 miles away) with a combination of trees and houses between us before it started cutting out. The description states it will reach up to 3 miles in an open area and I find that hard to believe and that isn't what this FRS frequency was designed for. FRS is designed for a maximum of 2-watts and you would be doing great to get up to a mile of coverage. It comes with a rechargeable battery pack of you can use 3xAA batteries in each in its place. It also comes with a belt clip and a USB-C Y-cable that allows you to charge both radios at once with a USB port or power supply.Another great bonus is the fact that it does support NOAA radio frequencies but with the FRS antenna, your experience will greatly vary due to your proximity to an NOAA radio tower. If you want to avoid the complexity of one of the more technical radios and just want a simple radio that works at a good price point, this is a very good option. I have used Baofeng for a few years now and I have not been disappointed.

not bad for the price, bit quirky with decent feature set
Better than basic frs radios with some quirksWord of warning, these radios are not intuitive, save the instruction manual.Range is good. Battery life is good. Functionality is so-so mainly due to an unintuitive user interface.Clarity is decent, but volume control is severely lacking. It's either too low or too loud. The volume adjustment is basically near silent, not quiet enough, too loud, much louder, jet engine. The flashlight feels gimmicky. There is no dust or water protection, which is funny since the usb-c port and the mic/speaker ports have dust covers. Too bad the speaker and the case itself aren't protected in that way.The reasons I still gave these 4 stars are:It not only has channel scan, it has privacy code scan. You can monitor 2 channels instead of just one.The standby time is absolutely amazing with the lithium battery pack, here are results of real world testing:Powered on, and on a channel that gets traffic in the morning and evening, run time was a little over 46 hours.Powered on, and in scan mode, with minimal traffic, volume at lowest, run time was 40 hours 12 minutes.Powered on, and in scan mode, with lots of traffic, volume at half, run time was a little over 14 hours.Powered off, checked daily until battery meter dropped for 3 bars to 2 bars, 21 days.3 weeks of usable standby time when turned off. No matter how you look at it, that's pretty good.So yeah, solid 4 stars as the value for the money is good. They aren't waterproof or dustproof, the interface is unintuitive, the volume is funky without a headset, the flashlight is a gimmick, but the battery life is great. You can charge these once a month and keep em in your car or go bag. Usb-c charging means you can charge them off a battery bank, solar, or just about anything lying around that kicks out 5v.They also have cradle charge points on the bottom sides, from the fcc report, these are straight to the battery, so if you build a charge cradle, make sure it has charge circuitry for a single li-ion cell per radio.

Good for the price!
I got these walkie talkies to use when camping, hiking or caravanning. So far, these have performed well. The range is decent, they are easy to use and the battery holds a charge well. For an FRS radio, I was genuinely impressed with the range. In open areas, we got crystal-clear audio at over a mile apart. Even in wooded areas or around mild elevation, the signal held up without garbling. Of course, like any walkie-talkie, the environment plays a big role, but the F22 handles it better than most in this price range. And the USB charging option is super convenient—charged both units overnight using a portable power bank. Easy to operate right out of the box. No complicated menus, just a solid click-and-talk system. The buttons are intuitive and the compact design makes them super easy to carry. They’re also lightweight but don’t feel cheap or flimsy.

Nice walkies
I can't say anything about the long range, it works in and around our 2 story house on 3/4 acre perfectly. The controls are basic, traditional walkie controls, nothing fancy but they don't need to be. One thing that stands out for me on these is how clear they are. I've owned a pair of midlands for years and these are so much clearer than them, barely any static or distortion in voices.
