I got these snake repellent pouches to place inside and around my outdoor shed and detached garage. They were super easy to hang or place on shelves. We lived in a forest in Tennessee. Every spring, ribbon snakes would sneak into our shed. I don't mind them in the wild, but I don't want them to get close to my tools or the places where my children play. I placed two natural oil bags in the shed and near the entrance. Within a few days, the snake disappeared and didn't return for more than a month. This is a mixed smell of garlic and mint. It is very strong at first, but not annoying. It's been six weeks now!

I saw one of the nasty things slither around the corner of our house. Got a shovel and killed it. Then put an different brand of snake repellent at the site. Haven't seen any.That happened to be the last of the "old brand" I had. So, I put two of these new bags under our bi-level deck. Oh my goodness!! It smelled so horrible inside our house, that I went out in my jammies in the evening (couldn't stand it anymore) and removed one. With my bare fingertip and thumb. SHOULD'VE had gloves on! Washed with 2 kinds of soap, rubbed vinegar on my hands, then finally washed them with ketchup (tomato remedy for skunk smell). At that point, the worst was gone from my hands but not all gone.Also, the ONE remaining bag under our deck made our whole house stink! It woke me up in the middle of the night! And apparently the odor was able to some how seep into our laundry room (through the dryer vent, I suppose.) It smelled like someone had dumped 4 pounds of crushed garlic instead of one snake repellent bag. I will definitely be going back to my old brand. If you intend to use these far away from the house, suppose they are OK. But, if you need them by your house, they are absolutely horrible.Update: While out mowing the lawn today, I saw a snake slithering along our garage foundation about 2 or MAYBE 3 INCHES from a new bag I had put out just the day before. This product was expensive and obviously not very effective. Will NOT be buying this again.
