Works well, easy to use, decent price
I needed this since like most people, my new laptop does not have a CD/DVD drive and I have a bunch of CDs I'm trying to go through and get photos and mp3s off of, as well as play old games. This product works well, plug in and use right away, and so far I haven't had any issues with it. Some have mentioned the short cord, it is a tad short but hasn't really been a problem to me. It is lightweight but seems sturdy. Overall a good buy!

plug & play, no hassles
I bought this for my dad's new (win11) desktop, as they no longer come with cd/dvd drives. It was super easy to use & worked great: he plugged it into one of the blue USB 3.x ports on the front, and was able to load all of his old CD games! (anything that doesn't require tech support from me gets two thumbs up!)Neither of us have tried to burn a cd/dvd yet, and frankly, probably won't as these days backups/etc need more space forcing the use of thumb drives. If I do, I'll try to remember to update this review if I run into any problems.

Solid External Drive – Great for Light Use and Music Industry Work
I picked up the Rioddas External CD/DVD Drive because my Alienware laptop doesn’t have a built-in optical drive (and let’s be real, not many do these days). I run an independent record label (Broken Curfew Records), and occasionally I need to test physical releases or rip CDs for digital re-release when a band no longer has the original files. This drive was lightweight, plug-and-play, powered by USB, and worked exactly as expected. I was able to listen to CD masters and rip one of our older releases for digital platforms without any issues. No extra software needed, and the connection was stable through USB 3.0.At around $20, I think it’s a solid deal. That said, with physical media fading out, I feel like the price could be a little lower—$10–$15 would be ideal, but overall, I’m still happy with the purchase. The USB cord is also a bit short. If you just need a reliable, no-fuss CD/DVD reader and burner, this one gets the job done. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5.

Great little player!
I've wanted to add a cd/dvd player to my all-in-one for a long time, but the last two I attempted to connect crashed my computer. I was nervous about this one, but read the reviews on how to handle any potential problems and felt comfortable hooking it up. It worked right off the bat! It's super small footprint takes up no room on my desk, since I already have a plastic box sitting over my two small external drives - my player sits atop the box. VERY short cord, which was no problem for me because my USB extension sits right there. But if you needed to, you could successfully use a USB extension and it would still work fine. I love the ease with which this little player operates, the slimline footprint and all things about it.

Plug and Play!
I needed a CD/DVD player as my MacBook does not have a built in one. This worked perfect for all my needs. It even was able to read my x-rays and MRIs from clinic. Great to have on hand. Simple with just a plug and play! Sleek and beautiful design. Highly recommend

Works as expected, but not with M-Disks
This is a pretty good burner, especially for the price, and in my experience has successfully burned multiple Audio CD-Rs, and DVD-RWs. I used both Legacy Windows Media Player and Express Burn to burn the disks, and both work as expected. HOWEVER unlike how it is stated in the product description, this burner is NOT compatible with M-Disks. We attempted using a Vinpower 4.7GB M-Disk (for reference, a maxell 4.7GB DVD worked just fine) and wasted 3 of them testing differrent softwares, and all returned a 03 73 03 error, which means the laser simply does not want to burn to the disk. So, this is a good device for burning normal CDs and DVDs, but if you want to burn M-Disks, try looking for a burner from another company like LG.

Affordable. Fairly easy to install & use.
I'm not technically inclined, so it did take a bit of time to download the necessary app. [BTW, device works only with the proprietary app.]I've only used one commercial DVD so far [Dexter so, if it matters.] But playback went well, nice & crisp, good sound. I don't need a bunch of bells & whistles, just the typical viewing-- play, FF, REW, pause, skip. Those worked just fine..CONSI would have liked a 10-30 second rewind, as I sometimes miss a sentence or piece of action. The disc tray is slow to respond & needs to be manually extended to place/remove the disc. I've heard this is standard on an external drive, but it still bothers me.All in all, it does all it needs to & is worth the money. The cable is short. But that's probably a safety thing.
