Easy & Works perfect
plug n play 100% - Awesome! My computer crashed and the new computer I bought didn't have a DVD player, so I bought this and was able to load up my MS Office Excel & Word apps from the disk! Perfect!

Practically free, truly plug n' play, got the job done. A++
Just got it yesterday, plugged it in, burned a DVD; no problems whatsoever. Very well behaved. Usually, I would wait a while before leaving a review, but who knows whether I'll ever need it again? So it's A++ for cost and performance.

Affordable. Fairly easy to install & use.
I'm not technically inclined, so it did take a bit of time to download the necessary app. [BTW, device works only with the proprietary app.] I've only used one commercial DVD so far [Dexter so, if it matters.] But playback went well, nice & crisp, good sound. I don't need a bunch of bells & whistles, just the typical viewing-- play, FF, REW, pause, skip. Those worked just fine.. CONS I would have liked a 10-30 second rewind, as I sometimes miss a sentence or piece of action. The disc tray is slow to respond & needs to be manually extended to place/remove the disc. I've heard this is standard on an external drive, but it still bothers me. All in all, it does all it needs to & is worth the money. The cable is short. But that's probably a safety thing.

Good, basic DVD player.
Good, basic DVD player. I attach it to my laptop to watch movies while cooking or getting ready in areas where we don't have a TV or DVD player. It works great. I wish it would remember where I left off on the movie.

Easy to use, burns CDs and plays cds
Simple plug in and use. It plays my music CDs with ease (I have a windows laptop) and also let's you burn CDs! Haven't tried it on DVDs yet, but I'll edit this when I have! It's very small and compact, so great for travel. Eject button worked great, design was simple and nice.

Worked OK for 2 Years
I have two of these and just use them occasionally. I have one that works great and never have any issues with it. The other one will not recognize a disc is loaded. Sometimes it won't even eject the disc. I have found if I turn it upside down it will read the disc, but as soon as I rotate it right side up it quits reading. It could possibly be a bad connection inside or something.

well built - works well to watch DVD movies on my laptop - don't like the hardwired short cable
Rioddas External CD/DVD Drive for Laptop, USB 3.0 CD: Great bargain. It's well built, opens & closes smoothly and has no issues. I use it to play DVD movies on my lower end HP laptop. I haven't used it to read or burn CDs. The only thing I don't like is the hardwired short cable. It's inconvenient for storage. I would've preferred no cord at all, to use a separate long cable. As it is, I use an uncommon (USB-A 2.0 male to female) extension cable to keep the drive out of the way.
