Classic Rustic Style Rectangular Dining Room Kitchen Table with Distressed Details (Black)

I purchased this table when I wanted to get as close to possible as matching a similar table from another store that I had purchased a few years ago. My original table was almost $1000 with freight shipping, so this being shipped free through a carrier combined with the far lesser cost made me slightly concerned that I would be getting junk. This is absolutely not junk. It is really heavy, although with a little creative physics, a small person can put it together and flip it right side up without any help (I know, I did it, took awhile, but not impossible). There are like 30 screws holding the table legs to the top of the table, which is nice because there is no chance it is ever going to be wobbly. In the event you don’t love the wood slat going across the bottom, I didn’t put that on and the table doesn’t feel at all unstable.My only slight concern might be that if it is actually used as a table (I use mine as a desk), and kids are using the table, the top has the potential to be dinged fairly easily. In the process of moving the table around the room, I managed to knock over a plastic storage box and the corner made a ding right in the top of the table. Not a big deal because it was easy to hide, but while the table is a beautiful, semi-matte (only a little gloss), I’m not entirely sure it will stay like that very long with little people using it.Despite this, it perfectly meets my needs, it looks fantastic, and I would order it again in a second.

UPDATE 03/05/19: This table lasted less than a year. Where the pedestal legs meet the feet, the 5 of 8 counter sunk alan bolts puttled the countersink nut right out of the presswood. No reasonable way to repair as the main joints are compromised. I am not certain any repair job will not lead to the table falling apart and causing major injury to my children or pets (as the table top is rather heavy). I retract my previous review, and have changed the rating from 5 stars to 1 based on lack of quality, durability, and potential danger.We eat at our table. We sit and play games at our table. Mostly we focus on our phones and ignore each other in peace at our table. This table.Our Ikea farm style table broke where the leg connected to the table top. I'm not an engineer, but I think that's a key system failure. It was a few years old, and served us well, so we decided to upgrade to something which would be more lasting in the home we had recently purchased. We needed something strong, heavy, and roomy. Many of the tables we saw in person were thousands of dollars. We saw comparable ones on Amazon which seemed to fit the bill, but were similarly priced. Then Amazon's Skynet AI recommended this table at a third of the cost. A price which was on par with the recently deceased Ikea table.As I take every opportunity to remind me wife, this was a stellar purchasing decision by a savvy buyer. If she wasn't married to me, who knows what she'd be eating on -- probably a portable poker table, or a Redskins stowaway tray. I make her life better.This came contract delivery in two boxes. Two very heavy boxes. The manufacturer called prior to shipping to let us know when to expect it, and gave me guidelines for receiving the shipment. The table top is one heavy single piece without extension. The legs are heavy. It was assembled easily if you take your time. There aren't a million pieces. The hardware use is well designed. The table is quality. I'm not sure what it is composed of, but it is a solid material - not cheap in any regard.I think this table is high quality at a price point 3-4x. It is much better than anything we saw in the chain furniture stores, delivered quicker, designed better, and didn't cost the dowry of a platinum haired Targaryen to procure.Get it.

First the delivery finally came a week after the scheduled delivery window. The top of the table is extremely heavy and the second box with the legs, struts, hardware and picture directions is much more manageable.When I got all the hardware out I thought I was missing a bag of screws but it turns out it was just labeled incorrectly.Second the very first step in the directions had me irritated. The holes for the long screws are not deep enough. I had to get out a drill bit and make them deeper myself, extremely annoying so if you aren’t the least bit diy I could see customers giving up at this point and returning the item not wanting to deal with the possibility of a bigger headache. Also if you don’t have an Allen Wrench kit, get one! The one provided is not adequate in length and your finger will ache after the first four screws. There are also some splits in the wood in the pedestals which I hope don’t become an issue later.Lastly the table looks nice, is very heavy and other similar tables from different retail stores are twice the price, I just hope this isn’t a situation where “you get what you pay for” type deals. $560 is a lot of money, to me anyhow and I hope I don’t regret it 🤞🏽

This table is easily worth double what they're charging. It's heavy solid wood, well made, and looks fantastic.Now I will say this, I removed one star only because there were a few hiccups in the assembly. In one instance I had to leave a bolt out as the holes did not line up, this did not drastically effect stability or strength of the table though. The other hiccup was less a problem and more an oversight. The screws that attach the table top to the leg assembly have pre drilled holes set into the thick leg struts, these how's however we're not deep enough to accommodate the hardware of the screw gun is as using, or the interchangeable screwdriver I had. That said I was able to bore out the holes with a half inch paddle bit no problem. The wood is quality and did not break or splinter when doing so.Overall I'd highly recommend this table and would buy it again if I had the option!
