Great ‘budget’ obilisk for growing clematis in pots.
Easy to assemble. Fit nicely in my 18” pots to support my clematis. I now have ten around the garden. Great product.

Gardeners Gift
I bought this as a gift for my dad and he was very pleased with it. Its good quality, attractive and does the job its supposed to do. I would recommend this item either for yourself or as a gift.

Impossible to assemble
We purchased one of these 8 months ago and it was fine for the price; not exactly premium quality but assembled easily enough and is now covered in sweet peas. We got another recently and despite being the same brand it is not the same at all; the screws do not fit well, the metal is very poor quality; and the engineering is so poor that the hoops are not the right size and it was impossible to construct. Trying to push it into shape just made the screws ping out. We have returned and do NOT recommend, unless you are lucky enough to get the type we got before. Looks like a different batch, avoid.

Good sturdy structure which is easy to assemble

A decent item and well made . It should support my clematis without any problem. A bit fiddly to assemble but its quite strong when finished. At 7 feet tall it should support most climbers.

Effective but quite difficult to put together
The three legs tend to spring outwards once fixed at the top and it takes 2 people to hold things in place while the 3 rings are fitted. Once all the screws are in place it is quite rigid. The more expensive ones are more sturdy. I am pleased with it now it is erected.

Worth considering for Sweet Peas
As the previous reviewer has mentioned, this product is flimsy. But I am returning to purchase another! Last year I bought two. It is very easy to put together. By ensuring the three legs were submerged some 30cm below ground, (clearly mark this measurement on each leg before positioning) then securing a heavy duty plastic covered mesh around its entire body - it was the perfect support for displays of sweet peas. They looked beautiful. I would think roses would be too heavy for this structure.

Great for climbing plants
After the winter storms blew down an arch with a clematis growing up it I thought the clematis was a goner. Anyway fast forward 6 months and the clematis has survived and growing around a bush so I needed something to support it that was more suitable. I wanted something cheap but durable and came across this obelisk. I was a bit dubious about it though as quite a few reviewers said it was flimsy but as the clematis was coming into flower I decided to take a punt and im glad I did. Sure its a bit flimsy when you first make it and I had to make holes for the poles before putting them in, but once its in the ground its strong and looks good in my border, so good in fact that I bought another clematis to go up the other side of it. I plan on buying another to support a climbing rose which I have just discovered growing in the shade garden. Well worth the money and another great item from Gardman.
