This seller is by far the best one that I have purchased tumeric from on Amazon. The tumeric came 3 days early and all the tumeric is of excellent quality and plump.

Fresh! Healthy! Key to health, weightloss, inflammation and so much more.. just google tumeric I was so excited to find this fresh tumeric. I never can and fresh instead of a supplement is 10000000 times better for you. And it was so fresh!! I blended all the tumeric with 5 inches of ginger..5 tablespoons of cinnamon....5 whole garlic flowers... 10 lemon and tablespoon of black pepper. SKINS and all!! Lots of detox properties in skins!! Blend blend blend!!!...Then just warm up in a pan. I then freeze into 5 sandwich baggies. Freeze each bag.. Use one bad for a gallon jug. Drink a cup in the morning when I first get up and before I go to bed. I was extremely sick. Have a rare autoimmune with inflammation bad circulation heart disease high blood pressure weight gain. This little concoction saved my life. Weight down. Belly fat better...Inflammation down. Heart better...circulation better. No longer on insulin Skip the supplements.....this is so much better. I wish I took pics of when it came right out of the bag.... sorry....I had to share either way...I want to help other sick people out there. I dont know this seller. The 5 stars is not for a promotion. They deserve it. So so excited to find a fresh tumeric like this. Again had to share for others that wish to get well.

These just arrived today and seem super fresh. I may grind a few to use but mainly they are for planting. They came in nice smaller pieces and a really good amount in a pound. Since I make alot of health type things buying this already powdered cut down on potency and now prices are going up and up my goal is to grow my own and this should give me a great start for all I could need. As long as they grow well I'd definitely recommend them as being fresh and ready to plant...

Received the order and it was a pound. Opened and laid them out to be planted, the next morning about 9 had dried out and shrank to almost nothing. Planted 6 of the remaining and they have done nothing but dried up and shrank also. Turmeric as with ginger do not shrink when stored right. I stored ginger all winter and none of them shrank. Will look for a new seller.

This was my second order from Amazon, but not from this provider. The turmeric root was shipped promptly, was fresh, and has lasted well with proper care. If I have a complaint, it's that this order contains many more tiny pieces than the first order from a different provider. These pieces are not spoiled, but are so small that they are hard to peel so some of them are really almost wasted. I realize that it's inevitable to get SOME small pieces, but I got MANY. They contribute to the total weight of the order, but also to some waste. I'll try a different provider next time.

I ordered this turmeric “root” mainly for growing purposes. I thought I will choose some best roots (actually called rhizomes) with good buds and plant them, while consuming the rest. However, about 90% of the knobs (or buds) on the roots were removed prior to shipping. This is disappointing. It is still a good product for cooking bud definitely not for sprouting and planting.

Received the product in average time I guess but somewhat slow considering it was send Priority mail but arrived more than a week after placing order, so I am guessing it took several days before they even shipped my order. The weight checked out ok, came out to 1.2 pounds when I weighed it in the bag. The white fuzzy mold is problematic as this is advertised as FRESH, but in my experience with ginger, which is almost like a cousin to turmeric, is it takes several MONTHS before you get the white fuzzy mold on it in the refrigerator. I don't know if the Bhandu Grocer is doing the right thing by shipping turmeric in a sealed plastic bag as there was a bunch of condensation in the bag when I opened the Priority Mail envelope. Who knows how long they have these 1# bags sealed in their store before someone buys it... 1 week? 2 weeks? 2 months? 6 months???? In any event I bought these to A) grown them year round as I live in Florida, and B) use these in my diet (cooking and using raw in a blended drink aka NutriBullet). With the white mold I am apprehensive to consume the product. I just saw a report on the news about salmonella in spices that are imported to the US from places like India and China. I am not sure this Turmeric is even grown in Cali where it is shipped from or if that is just the distribution center in the US, but the turmeric is shipped from India to Cali. EDIT: The seller from Bhandu contacted me and resent a new order. It arrived in proper condition, but I see a problem with them shipping these in sealed plastic bags as the condensation is what will cause the mold / rotting to be accelerated even if only a few days. I changed my rating from a 1 with the mold, to a 5 for the second batch. I will update this when I place a third order yet to be determined.
