Worked great
Simple to use and fairly accurate. My Dr moved and this told me I was within acceptable range

Really easy and accurate way to self monitor
so far so good. I purchased a kit last august 2024. this kit had 4 test modules and one meter. it was close enough for me to know how well i am doing or not before i go in to the dr office. i found that its only off by maybe 0.1+/-. and those odds are good enough for me. its super easy to use, takes about 5mins on the timer and its done. keep track of your number and there you have it. once you get past the panic of worrying if your doing it right or not, they get easier to do once you have relaxed, lol. i like this kit so much, while I had one module left, but i ordered another kit a couple of weeks ago and it was going to take a few weeks to get it, for some reason this one wasnt a prime delivery, so I ordered ahead of time so i had it when i wanted to checkup on things. its nice to know at home if i am not doing well with my numbers at least 30days before my dr appointments so that i can put myself in a time out to bring it all back in line.

Make sure to shake the test unit a bit!
I am frequently testing my A1C since I have a DOT physical renewal coming up. I'm a type 2 with absolutely horrid blood sugars. But in recent times I overcame my food addiction and learned to take better control of my blood sugars. Thankfully 3 out of the 4 tests worked and represent the efforts of my diet change. The 1st test failed. After reading some advice to shake the unit itself a little bit after injecting the blood sample. I haven't had any issues ! Awesome test. Since an A1C costs around $45 where I live.

Not Accurate Enough to Have Any Value
The test is supposed to measure your average A1C level over the past three months. I took two tests one day after the other (after overnight fasting on both days). Given that the test measures your average blood sugar over the past three months, the readings should have been quite similar. Additionally, on the second day test, I also went to my doctor's office lab and had a professional test done (within about 5 minutes of doing one of the Self Check A1C tests). My values were:Self Check A1 C Test Day 1: 5.0Self Check A1 C Test Day 2: 5.4Doctor's Office Professional Lab (same days as second self check): 5.8So the two Self Check A1C values were off by .4 and .8 from the professional lab. I would say the test would need to be within .1 or .2 of your actual A1C to have any real value, so this is essentially a pointless test.Additionally, when I ordered the test, they sent four tests with an expiration date 6 months out. If you're going to test once every three months (given the test measures your average A1C over the past three months), then the expiration date needs to be at least 9 months out for a four-pack test. (Test 1: right away, Test 2: 3 months later, Test 3: 6 months after first test, Test 4: nine months after first test)

Accuracy is just OK
I bought these, along with a two-test pack of Walgreens A1c tests. Theoretically, the look to be from the same manufacturer, however I found the A1cNow version to have some accuracy issues. It's seems to read .3 - .4 high over the Walgreens version, confirmed via a lab A1c test shortly after doing a comparison, which matched the Walgreens version exactly.I used both Walgreens tests over the course of two months or so, and a similar number of the A1cNow tests, and this discrepancy was borne out over all tests. So, these are OK, and are fairly easy to use, but if you think the results don't match your expectations, maybe you got a bad batch?Pros:* Pretty easy to use, if you're used to finger sticks* Results are read pretty quickly (5 mins)Cons:* Kind of expensive, but that's the case with all home A1c tests* Accuracy is somewhat suspect, but not hugely out of whack (.3 - .4)* Lancet device is junk - it either misfires (one-shot), or hits way too hard. Use your own lancets.

Trusted product
I use this in between regular check ups for my diabetes. I find the results are pretty close and at half the cost of my co-pay. I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to monitor their A1C regularly at an inexpensive cost.

One test was faulty
When it works, it works great. However it was disappointing when my second test dos not work at the point of inserting the sample into the device. I could not push it down to active the test. It was like it was too hard to pierce or something. So I ended up with one less test 😞
