I purchased this car mount to better safely utilize the GPS feature on my phone. My van is not compatible with the mounts that clip I to the vents, and with my radio being a touch screen I needed a mount that would allow me to use my phone without it being in the way.This mount arrived in a very small box that made me worry for a minute that I had ordered the wrong thing! The mount came in two pieces with clear plastic over the suction cup. In my haste to try it out, i quickly removed the plastic film from the cup, popped the mount onto the arm and prepared to install it. Once I got to the car I noticed that the suction cup was actually sticky. I'm not sure if it's an actual adhesive or just the type of cup it is, but I placed it on my dash in several different places and was pleasantly surprised to see that it left no residue behind and it moved easily from place to place.My dash has a slight texture to it, so I worried the mount would not stuck but that was not the case. Thankfully it stuck with no problem at all!I have a samsung Galaxy S8 plus in a bulky case and it fit easily in the mount and was very secure. I was able to easily plug my charger into my phone while it was on the mount, and the way the mount swivels and can be positioned I was able to conveniently view my GPS without needing to take my eyes far from the road.2 thumbs up for this product!Update: since writing this review, I have also discovered that our Nintendo Switch also fits in this mount lol

The hardest part of the install was getting the back phone mount to connect to the holder. After using extreme force it finally clicked in. I was afraid I was going to break it. After that I used the suction cup as directed and it stayed in place for a while. Unfortunately it would not stick if my dash became too hot from staying in the sun too long. Seems like the outside weather didn't effect the stickiness but if direct sun hits your dash for several hours it will not hold. Other than it works okay. It is quite bouncy even just driving around normal driving conditions.***update.After the holder fell off i noticed a dark ring where the suction cup was. This is now a permanent blemish on my dash and new car. I repeat, this will leave a permanent discoloration on your dash!!!

The part I like the most is the quick release button on the back (watch out though! lol if you're not paying attention your phone will just fly away from you and end up somewhere under your seat it pops out so fast!) It feels sturdy and firm when attached to my dashboard. The adjustable sides are VERY easy to just push in against the edges and secure. I've had a phone holder that it was just too difficult to adjust and hug the phone properly. The tongs at the bottom to hold the phone to ensure it doesn't slip is a super nice feature too.

I gave this 5 stars over-all because the car phone mount sticks very well to my dash board. The bottom is sticky like an adhesive so I saved the round plastic cover for the bottom. I have only used a few times. I do remove it each time I use from my car because my car sits in the sun all day. Pros: It stays on well and will not come off if you hit a bump. You are able to move and customize the positions for easy viewing. It is well made.Con: You have to place inside the holder starting from the top and be sure it grabs and holds the phone or it will slip out. It has a button in.the back for easy removal. It should hs e a button that automatically close or grasp the phone instead of manually trying to squeeze it to hold the phone do it will not slip off. I have a Galaxy S7 phone. That is why I gave it 4 stars for ease of use. It may have been me but it took me a few minutes to put together to slide and lock the back of the holder into place. I do recommend this if you want a holder to use on your dashboard rather than a vent.

Did not stay on my dash - my dash is not smooth and has a bit of a texture - so perhaps that was the reason.

I like its adjustability and versatility. Two negatives are 1: The actual phone holder will slide of the mounting arm easily (if bumped upward). There is a hole where it looks like a small set screw can be put to stop this but there was no screw in the package, and 2: The mechanism to release the phone is spring loaded but there is hardly any tension so I have to wiggle my phone out sometimes. Both drawbacks are relatively minor but worth taking a star off.

I was looking for a mount that would stay on my dash. I've been through about four different ones. They fall off my dash; won't stay in the vent; or the magnet isnt strong enough to hold the phone. I tried one that mounted to windshield and it was in the way of my view and my phone kept sliding off the magnet..My friend has this one and has been pleased with it. I decided to try and so far so good. I like the way it it has a cradle for the phone so it stays in place. It's easy to put on windshield.

Cleaned off my dash with a bit of isopropyl alcohol, the mount stuck right on and hasn't popped off once, been a tight fit for at least a month now. I like that it's adjustable, holds my phone nice and snug. Couldn't be happier, excellent product.

I'm so gutted. This was amazing but whilst I was testing to see whether it would stay fixed to different areas of my dashboard it detached and landed on a tissue which pretty much stuck to the sticky gel and now I have to press it firmly in place before each drive to make sure it doesn't detach as the suction has been affected. So I'll probably have to replace it with another one I bought to compare, that had fewer features.I don't know if there is any way I can replace the sticky gel as I love the product so much. Fits beautifully to dashboard between window and steering wheel.

Really great, wasn’t sure it was going to stick to the dashboard but it has been solid even off some rough terrain we have done going to overnight camping areas

Does not stick or suck reliably - even to clean surfaces, will be returning to Amazon.

Bought this for my partner as she wanted a new phone holder, it sticks to the dash really well and can be postioned where you need it, so far a good buy.

Good fit and suction fanstic for front car screen and my phone and my sat nav fit well and good grip Dash board not so good on suction but all round value for money
