Launch PS4 consoles may have more bugs, glitches and frame rate issues compared to playing on PS5 at game's launch Setting/Story First person shooter taking place in the futuristic Night City where cybernomic body augmentation is the norm, and gangs/factions/corporations take control of the city. Individuals who overdo cyber enhancements making them insane. You personally not able to overdo cyber enhancements making them hard encounters There are bugs in the game. If anything like Witcher 3 (same developer as this game) will all be patched out overtime. For those who could wait, i would for a better immersive experience. Game should have been delayed until 2021, but seeing it's the end of the console generation (X1, PS4) they probably wanted to release it during the holidays to capture the most audience Multiple endings, more then the 3 backstories you start off with. My first playthrough main lining the story (with some side quests) took around 20 hours. Not your typical 50+ hours main line story, but there is good pacing and minimal filler. Game has tons of post game content May be one of the most immersive open world game I've played. Hype is warranted; not the greatest game of all time, but is one of the best games of the year/console generation (X1, PS4)

Amazing, deep game.
Edit: Did another play through to get to the secret ending. Secret ending is best ending, and I loved the play through from scratch again. I'm done with the game now... but I'm missing flying through the streets on the motorcycle on my way to do terrible things... When I first read reviews of Cyberpunk 2077 they said that I might end up spending my time just driving around the city just for the pleasure of it. Hah, not me, I thought, total waste of time. The first time I tried to play was right after it was released on Stadia. I got about an hour into it and quit. I might have been put off by the genital selection dialog. Considering how many bugs there were, I was pretty annoyed such a useless feature was there instead of being slightly more reliable. Fast forward a few years, after the DLC was released, I decided to give it another chance. This time I picked up the PS5 version (which you get for free for getting the PS4 version), and OMG... what a game. I can't even begin to describe the depth of the game, only that I put over 120 hours into one play through and I still didn't get to everything. There are so many play styles supported... so many weapons for different kinds of playing. And who knew that Keanu could act? The story is really, really good. So is the voice acting. The missions range from amazing to just OK, but there are so many amazing ones, that I treated the OK ones as practice. There are a ton of different endings depending on player choices, but with strategic saves you can see all of them without having to do a new game. Combat is amazing; when you get into your style it is certainly a power fantasy running around, dominating the field. Oh... and there was a point after I got better at the vehicle controls (the vehicle controls are atrocious, but at some point it stops mattering) I found myself driving from place to place on a motorcycle, lane splitting, running lights, just at high speed instead of using the insta-travel kiosks... I still miss it. Oh... the bugs... there are lots of them. They're all annoying. But I didn't run into any that broke my play. The game is so good I'm going to overlook them, but even at this point it will crash, secondary features will stop working (requiring a game restart) or very occasionally a new version will leave you with a missing equipped item or two. I've done all the endings but the secret ending... my main character did not handle some dialog correctly and I don't have access to it. Maybe I'll do another play through...

Aside from some bugs/glitches, It runs smooth on PS5 with the PS4 version
I can't speak for the PS4 consoles, but on my PS5 it runs very smooth and has a HDR10 option that is disabled in the start, but you can turn it on and it adds a better color gamma/range to stuff like neon signs on the street etc. Current state of the game: Texture pop-in is kind of a thing at the moment, Which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5, But I believe in time they will fix it. I know a lot of people will complain and say if they took these many years to make the game and release it still a big unfinished... Well... Sometimes it's not the actual developer(s) fault (The actual people who worked tirelessly on the game) but rather the corporation/company that forced them to meet unrealistic deadlines... Also a lot of time was wasted on features and things that were ultimately removed in the end before release... So all that time went to waste if you think about it... Probable future experience?: I have confidence that they will make the game way better in a few months, and it will be an entirely different experience. Just like with Witcher 3, CDPR (CD Projekt Red, The game developer as Cyberpunk 2077) They had issues with that game at launch with very similar bugs as we do on Cyberpunk at the moment.... Now if you go and play that game with the latest patches... It's no longer like that. and to get to that point only took them a few more months.... Explanation of how bug fixing works for those unaware: They become aware of more bugs with a lot of people reporting them etc and makes it easier for them rather than sitting there for another month testing it themselves and wasting more time while those bugs they missed remain in the main release anyway... Which probably happened here. Overall, I'm finished with my explanation as to why some may be upset for the wrong reasons, and I understand their concern. At the moment however, The game seems pretty well polished for something that's been worked on for so long, and I have no doubt that I will someday be able to give it 5 stars instead of 4 once all the bugs are worked out :) There are so many ways to play the game, and 3 different lives you can portray, and the story is pretty lengthy... So... Even by the time they add these fixes and more features, You will still probably have a reason to replay the game! Controls: A bit confusing on console but not anything too crazy, You can get used to it within a few hours. Additions/Items in package with game: A physical map of the city is awesome! It kinda shows how massive the game is before you even boot it up! Postcards included as collectibles, Stickers are awesome however I'm not ready to plaster my PS5 with them just yet! HBO MAX 30 day free trial code included with some games. The coolest thing that's included is the 'World Compendium'! This tells you the history and information about gangs, corporations, past wars, literally any lore you may have questions or interest about/in! Feel free to read to learn a little more about your clan if you're a Nomad, A little more about your past Corporation if you're a Corpo, or about your gang if you're a street kid! Overall, I give the game a 8.5/10 for story Graphics: 7.5/10 Controls: 6.8/10 Hopefully this helped a bit with your purchase of the game!

Ps4 Pro- not many problems here!
This is an honest review from a PS4 Pro user. I cannot speak for the base PS4 console or PS5, not other consoles or PC experiences. I received my hard copy the day after launch with a shipping delay. No matter, when I did get it I popped in the data disc and let it load onto the system. The next day I popped in the playable disc and encountered the massive update. Day one patch. For any of you with a slower internet like myself, be prepared to spend about 10 or more hours downloading it. Again, no big deal- I wait longer for game downloads. I was finally able to play that night. Customization is a little less than what I thought it was going to be. Usually a set of 8 to 13 choices per facial group, a few choices for hair and eyes color, etc. Usually newer games have a much more vast variety of options, including nudging facial features, etc. A bit of a let down, but not that impactful on the game. Game play is simple enough if you've played first person shooters or games like GTA. Possibly a slight learning curve for most. After reading the reviews, I can say that shooting isn't bad at all but sometimes melee combat can be a little loose, but not troublesome after a few tries. As for bugs and glitches: I'm aware that most users have had problems with them. I'll be honest, I've rarely had any problems. Occasionally I'll get someone standing on a food cart or standing within someone else, the funniest one is an NPC for a mission began to glide across her apartment floor, then twisted herself to look at me as she spoke-still gliding past, and eventually the NPC headed down the stairs like this. Other then that, not much has happened. Some users in game articles mention an abundance of adult toys laying all over while in gameplay, but I literally cannot find any except within the adult shops. Game crashes? Sure, I'll get them every couple hours or so, but I'm not bothered too much when they happen. The game auto saves often enough that I barely lose progress and loading back into the game only take 2 minutes tops. I've played games on servers that have crashed much more and with more problems with progress loss (ahem, Fallout 76, Borderlands 3) so these are really mild inconveniences IMHO. Graphics: I've gotten the weird ps2-like graphics maybe twice and very briefly, like they were over in a couple seconds as the game rendered. It didn't effect gameplay and it really hasn't happened in the past few days of play. While the game isn't as dynamic looking as the posters suggest, the graphics are okay. Maybe in the future we will see some patch with dynamic shading fix. One could hope. Gameplay: I'm actually happy at how much fun I'm having. You can take plenty of routes in completing missions and stealth is always fun. My biggest complaint about the whole game, though, comes from engaging with enemies. The enemies seem... Robotic. Of course you get repeated phrases and mismatched voices, but the enemies movements are pretty predictable and redundant. I'd expect enemies to have more dynamic handling and less pattern like most newer games. This doesn't make it unplayable, though. In fact, it's the first game that I loaded right away on hard mode and am able to play reasonably well, even with the challenges the enemies actually give. Storyline is where it's at. If you don't mind okay graphics and want a good story, this is your game. I honestly didn't know what to expect when I pre-ordered the game and began playing, but I'm pretty addicted to knowing how things will play out in the story. And I'm sure with the various options given in dialogue and course of action that I'd be up for a second playthrough just to see how different it can be. Overall Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a bad game. I've played games with many more glitches, bugs and crashes than this one, but because of the reviews I would be wary of you have a base console to handle the game until the kinks are worked out. Otherwise, sit back, enjoy the story and have a little fun.

still in love even with bugs
Obvious a lot of issues for many players, I won't take away from their complaints but can only offer my experience. It has been four months since I got this game and it is still something I play several times a week. I completed one play through which clocked in at 110-112 hours (nomad), and currently on a second play-through (corpo) at about 70 hours. Yup, there are bugs, but my bugs have been way less worse then others. Complete crashes - I would get them after about 3-4 hours of playing. Normally only one during that time. Since the latest update (1.20), I have played about 10-12 hours and no crashes. I am sure there are some out there waiting for me but none yet. Lag - probably the most annoying part on my PS4. It most often occurs when I just start playing the game for the day. You will draw a weapon and no weapon appears for five seconds, or you are aiming and no reticule shows up for 20-30 seconds. After the first 10-15 minutes pass, it is better. It will still get choppy, however it is playable and the choppiness isn't enough for me to put it down because it is brief or goes away. I really like this game. I wish they had a better launch and a better user experience for some very valid complaints out there. I can only speak to the fun I have with the game and it keeps me coming back. The crafting system is more complex then I realized on my first paly through and that has me searching for the base weapons to craft into iconics, and some of the side-story details are really well thought out and fun to play. Some days when I play, I spend three hours just looking for the little baseball bats on the map and go fight crime the entire time. I just really enjoy this world and the storylines. I look forward to more updates to the game over the coming months and I hope others can have the experience I have had.

ErrorPunk 2020, am I right? Lol
The crashing and the graphics are the 9th or 10th thing wrong with this game, BUT it IS fun for what it offers. It is a beautiful and expansive open-world, sandbox, RPG game with a lot under the hood. As a fan of the ol' pen'n'paper, this game is truly what one could hope to have translated into a game. You can tell that this game was done by people who truly understand and appreciate the CyberPunk franchise. It would be nice if the GTA/RDR controller configuration became an industry standard for ALL games- it just seems more intuitive (talkin' to you too, Assassin's Creed devs). :) PROS 1. (Again) This is a beautiful and expansive game (the GTA V graphics aside). You get a real sense of scope and scale of Night City, as well as the other locales. (Which really seems to be pushing the boundaries of the PS4.) 2. It is an entertaining and immersive game. There is so much to do and so many nooks-and-crannies just waiting to be explored. 3. It has selectable, varying degrees of difficulty, so that YOU can play the game YOU want to play (more devs need to adopt this practice). 4. It isn't entirely linear, so you can just doodle off and do side-missions OR just wander around the world doing whatever you want at your own pace. 5. The characters are interesting and extremely well voiced. You really feel the emotional loss of characters when they die. Gets you right in the feels... (Spoiler: People die in this game.) :) 6. It has a very compelling story and side-missions. 7. The missions aren't timed- which is a good thing, because sometimes you hit a wrong button and that should be the end of it/you. 8. There are different degrees of difficulty for the enemies- you feel the need to level up to progress in the game. 9. The sheer number of weapons and vehicles that you can get, buy, and craft. 10. You really see/feel/notice the effects of the cybernetic upgrades/enhancements. (Although, it doesn't seem to keep track of your humanity points...) 11. It has Keanu Reeves in it. THIS instantly elevates the project even higher. 12. You CAN get the fastest car in the game for free (after the Ghost Town mission...just don't open her up all the way on the PS4). Lol (No, seriously.) 13. The devs are still trying to actively fix what they can, as best as they can. 13+. It has debauchery. ;) Now you can't have clouds without a little rain... CONS 1. (This is the biggest, IMHO.) The decision to make it an FPS. WHY did I just spend 2 hours creating a character (with such detail) that I'm only going to see when she goes to the restroom or when I'm kitting her out with new gear?! I occasionally get to see the back of her head/outfit when she's riding a motorcycle. THIS was a bad decision. 2. The annoying practice of having to "pixel-hunt" for that sweet spot for items that either enemies drop or just appear in the environment. Sometimes you just gotta give up on the Epic (insert item)- it's just not gonna happen... 3. The mission objectives aren't always clear until you're actually in the mission. 4. The control/interface is somewhat confusing and doesn't always respond even if you did the sequence correctly. 5. Some side-missions simply will not trigger. 6. It seems a lot of the crashes occur when the game's draw distance and autosave try to happen at the same time. 7. The gender fluidity thing, apparently, is only for the MC. Depending on which gender you choose changes/prevents progression with certain characters. 8. Expected a bit more debauchery. It's hinted at, but isn't quite to the level I was hoping for- the ESRB needs to realize that some gamers are adults and don't need our games sanitized. Also, I think the devs/progs deserve kudos and respect for getting this game out during the largest pandemic we've ever faced. (Most people seem to forget these are human beings.) This is why the ALL this death-threat nonsense needs to stop. I'm pretty sure the decision to release this game was made above their paygrades by people looking to make as much as possible across multiple platforms. Do you threaten to kill an author if they release a book you don't like? Do you threaten to kill a TV show writer if they write an episode you don't like? Do you threaten to kill the guy at a burger place if they forgot your pickles? No. No, you do not. You people need to stop whining about expecitng next-gen graphics/perfomance on a last-gen machine. This one is kinda on you. The bottom line- if this game wasn't stable on last-gen consoles...then maybe it should have ONLY been released for the next-gen systems. Lastly, SONY could've made this whole thing less of a clusterf@!k than they did, so that everyone could've had a system by Christmas and been able to play the game the way it was meant to be played. Is it a perfect game? Not entirely, but I'm just grateful that I get to play it- bugs be damned. :D

Bleak [spoilers]
Had high hopes for Cyberpunk 2077 based on having enjoyed The Witcher 3, which really impressed with its gritty moral realism, ambiguity, and intriguing open-world exploration. The Witcher 3 had enough of a narrative arc to keep you engaged, but you never felt like you were on rails. You could travel where you wanted, when you wanted, and make your own decisions about how the story unfolds. The variety and depth of the main characters and their long-running relationships with Geralt were quite appealing as well. Cyberpunk starts out promising, with the protagonist V befriending earnest, charismatic Jackie, but Jackie is killed as a plot device in the first major mission, and the game never really recaptures that hint of magic. Sure, you can still go where you want, when you want, but over the long run I felt like I had very little freedom to decide where the story ultimately went. I had to deal with Johnny, and I had to confront mega-corporation Arasaka. Neither of these major narrative threads proved particularly interesting, despite my best efforts to go along with what the developers wanted me to do (even when that wouldn't have been my ideal choice). I won't even go into the well-documented bugs, except to say that my game did crash pretty much every session after about 1-2 hours. I just expected it and reloaded, enduring the rather tedious wait times. I didn't even start playing the game until a few months after release and it had been patched multiple times, but the crashes still happened. Overall, though, this review is based on the "best version" of the game -- assuming no crashes and all bugs worked out. Night City is huge and dynamic -- you can't fault the developers for lack of ambition. But I was surprised how unlikeable and/or one-dimensional most of the main characters seemed to be. The voice actress for Panam must be the same actress who voiced Triss -- a character and voice that were much like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. On top of that, Panam was incredibly selfish and immature -- to the point where I just didn't want to help her at all after a few outings. The developers seem to count on sexy curves and hormones compelling you to do her bidding, but I actually got more pleasure from saying no and warning her clan leader. Then that entire plot line fizzled and disappeared -- other than the occasional bitter text message from her telling me what a **** I am. I did my best to stay on high ground and just ignored her. Perhaps the most likeable NPC is actually a malfunctioning taxi service AI, which says a lot about how the NPCs are too shallow. The only NPC side plot I finished was River Ward, because he seemed like a well-meaning guy in a tight spot. The story of his missing nephew, unfortunately, turned out to be shockingly dark and disturbing. I was appalled in a way no game has ever made me feel before, and that's really saying something. To make matters worse, River wanted to get drunk and hit on me after it was all over -- ew! Alcohol is the aphrodisiac of the pathetically immature. Was it my bad for expecting better from a video game? Actually, no: Dragon Age did a fantastic job handling romance with delicacy and dignity. I liked Judy somewhat, but the more I followed her story line, the more I found myself rolling my eyes and wondering whether I really should help her take over the "hospitality" business. I mean, she seemed to care about the well-being of those in "the profession," but I also felt a little like I was being used. I didn't want money or items in return, but just a sense that I really was doing the right thing, making Night City a better place, and maybe a little heartfelt gratitude. All of these sentiments were really hard to come by in Cyberpunk 2077. Hence, bleak. There didn't seem to be too much of a connection between the way I leveled up my character and my ability to get through the story on my terms. Most encounters devolved into meat-grinding shootouts (or blunt-outs, since I often just swing a pipe willy-nilly to get through enemies). I tried stealth, I tried hacking, I would have liked to try talking or negotiating, but basically the game forced me to go thug mode in order to get through almost every encounter or mission. Other than the occasional satisfying sniper rifle pick-off, the gun play went from being choppy but mildly entertaining to ridiculously tedious and repetitive as the game wore on. I actually found myself running as fast as possible through the seemingly endless final mission just to avoid having to spend literally hours gunning down floor after floor of Arasaka security guards. My original plan was to play the game through just trusting my gut and trying to finish the story without worrying about being too thorough, and then play it again as a different character with more of a completionist mindset. The first playthrough, I was a male Nomad new to Night City. In an effort to reach a satisfactory conclusion, I worked with Hanako Arasaka as much as I could, thinking that seemed to be the most sensible approach. But when she ultimately had her dead father's consciousness overwritten on her brother's mind, I was disgusted that I had been made an unwitting accomplice to such a despicable crime. The game didn't really let me do anything about it, although I had the feeling that wasn't the direction the developers thought most players would go. I think they assumed most players would want to nuke Arasaka to the ground (again), like Johnny did 50 years prior. That seemed like a childish solution to a complex problem that doesn't, in fact, solve it, as proven by the fact that Arasaka is still going strong 50 years after Johnny's desperate act. He changed nothing. The second playthrough I started, I tried being a female Arasaka employee wrongfully dismissed. After a few hours, though, I realized my heart just wasn't in it. The selfishness and pettiness of the Night City NPCs (including Johnny) just wore me down to the point where I just didn't enjoy the thought of spending any more time with them. If this is the future, I want no part of it. After spending the past month or more reflecting on the myriad failings of Cyberpunk 2077, I found myself questioning whether The Witcher 3 really was as good as I remember. Then I think about the Bloody Baron -- what a character! What a story! Fantastic dialogue voiced with unforgettable gravitas. Every time I solved one problem and peeled off a story layer, two more hair-raising issues were revealed. I couldn't decide whether I hated the guy, respected him, admired him, or felt sorry for him. All of the above, at one time or another. And the story -- yikes! I was riveted from beginning to end. There were no clear black-and-white solutions, just a muddy human problem. And I loved every minute of it. Hopefully, the developers can learn from the mistakes of Cyperpunk 2077 and get back to crafting gritty, compelling narratives populated by complex, intriguing characters.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS
It is so extremely disappointing to see people rating this game anything 3 stars or below. Before I begin let me preface with a few things: 1) The only reason people are rating it so low, is because of current gameplay bugs and/or they do not like the graphics that their 6+ year old console is putting out on a game that should not have been produced for past-gen consoles. Bugs will be fixed and next gen consoles are out. 2) CD Projekt Red worked on this game for 8+ years, and while there are problems with it at launch, they delayed it a numerous amount of times and were relentlessly criticized by fans for these delays and so they let the customers have it. It should not have been released this year, because obviously they were not done. I would argue majority of the people negatively rating it are the ones that can't wait a little, and wanted it immediately. On to the good part. I got this game on launch day for $50 (a steal), and as far as I can tell, it is still $50 on Amazon, which I would take advantage of while you can. I have put approx. 30 hours into this game and I still am no where near completing it. I believe I am close to completing the main story but I do not think I have put a dent into the Night City world as a whole. The game is really amazing. As a RPG fan, it is everything you can ask for. I play on a PS5 and I still have my fair share of bugs, glitches, and game crashes, but still I boot it up again and have fun in this world that has limitless possibilities. Easiest way I can explain this game is if you threw together Fallout, WatchDogs, and GTA. I do not know how this game runs on a PS4 or Xbox One, but on next-gen it has its bugs but it is really amazing. ALL IN ALL, do yourself a favor, do not listen to the negative impatient people and enjoy this game for what it is. The bugs will be fixed, the game will run smooth. Don't be the person who missed out on playing this one.
