THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME is the soundtrack to the legendary concert film of the same name, which was released in 1976. The performances in the film were recorded July 27-29, 1973 at Madison Square Garden during the band’s tour for its then-current studio album, Houses Of The Holy. The Super Deluxe Boxed Set will be the most exquisite and elaborate release in the reissue series, recreating the intricate embossing of the set’s original issue and will also mark the first time the full length film and soundtrack have been available in the same package. -The Super Deluxe format includes: Remastered audio on two CDs and four 180-gram vinyl LPs. Two DVD set of the The Song Remains The Same featuring the full theatrical version of the film plus bonus content including four performance outtakes that were not part of the original film: “Celebration Day,” “Over The Hills And Far Away,” “Misty Mountain Hop,” and “The Ocean.” DVD of the entire album in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and PCM Stereo, plus photo gallery. High-def download card of all stereo audio content at 96kHz/24 bit. A 28-page book featuring band photos and stills from the film and an essay by Cameron Crowe. A replica of the Japanese program from 1977, previously available only when the film first toured cinemas in that country. High-quality print of the original album cover, the first 30,000 of which will be individually numbered. Review: The Great Band Ever - Led Zeppelin (Fantastic Collector Item) - This collector package is amazing. I am a huge fan of Led Zeppelin (the greatest band ever). I already owned the vinyl, but this is a special one because it offers all of the different pieces of the movie. Now, I have the old Vinyl, CDs, and video which I bought individually. Now, this is the remastered version of the recordings. Jimmy Page has done a fabulous job remastering all of their studio albums. This is another official quality product. Review: The Ultimate Version of The Song Remains The Same - My opinion may be a bit biased because this is one of my top five "Lost on a Desert Island" albums/soundtracks. I saw the original movie in 1976 (but never got to see Zeppelin live) and have most of the soundtrack burned into memory from thousands and thousands of listens. This box set uses the movie edit versions of the songs plus the songs that did not make the original release. If you are familiar with the edits between the original vinyl double album and the movie, it is the movie versions of the songs presented here on vinyl and the CDs along with both the original movie and the re-release of the movie with the added content and songs. The sound is excellent. I loved the original version's Madison Square Garden sound which, if anything, seems enhanced on the mixes here. I haven't decided which I like better. there seems to be more separation of all instruments and details of the vocal, guitar, bass & drums seem to stand out. Even the echoing Theremin stands out better in this mix. And for you guitar players, all of those Les Paul/SG/Marshall tones and Jimmy's playing just sound amazing. Tweaking your systems bass and treble levels provides more options than the original release mixes and media. Plus, it is cool having these versions of live Black Dog, Since I've Been Loving you & The Ocean on vinyl. Different Zep fans like their different live recordings and bootlegs but I have always loved the 72 and 73 live stuff and the Madison Square Garden performances and sound win over How the West Was Won performances, for me, at least. Maybe just because of how the movie captured everything visually as well. One gripe - where is the 4K video? I hope that is in the works for release at some point. If you liked the original soundtrack album and movie, you will love this compilation of vinyl, video, picture book, Tour booklet from Japan and the limited edition album cover print. Gotta Love It!!!

A worthy addition to the remastered Led Zeppelin catalog.
The extra tracks are certainly worth the price of admission, The sound quality is very similar to the original album however, in that the electric bass is still rather low in the mix. I would still recommend it based on the inclusion of No Quarter, The Ocean and other tracks left off the original.

It's a brilliant though it is a different size to my other Zeppelin super deluxe editions which is a bit annoying and pointless. Still hard to rate anything by this band less than 5 stars. It's expensive so for diehard fans only

IMMENSI LED ZEPPELIN
