Huge Upgrade from the K38 – Clear, Full, Professional Sound.
I create spoken-word content regularly, including Christian teachings, podcast-style recordings, and long-form voice work, so mic quality matters to me. I upgraded to the Fifine K688 from the K38, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The K688 delivers a fuller, cleaner sound with much better voice presence. My voice comes through natural and clear without sounding thin or harsh, and it does a solid job rejecting background noise. I don’t have to fight with settings or heavy EQ to make it sound good, which matters when you’re recording often. The build quality is excellent for the price. The boom arm is sturdy, the controls are intuitive, and the gain knob gives you real, usable control. It feels like a tool made for people who actually use their mic daily, not just occasionally. If you’re producing regular voice content and are currently using an entry-level mic like the K38, this is a worthwhile upgrade. Strong performance, professional sound, and great value.

1St Mic I Ever Owned
The K688 Was my first Microphone, as soon as I seen it, I had to have it. I've had it a little over a year or so and its got good quality sound. I like how clear and pronounced my voice is when recording on it, The Amplification is spot on and you can adjust the gain as well as your headphones which is super convenient so you can hear that the sound is just perfect. Really solid choice for anyone on a budget and who cant afford the big Sure SM7B's of the world. Fifine has got you and it has real good premium equipment of all kinds.

Phenomenal Microphone/Boom
I purchased this microphone and boom arm combo due to my gaming headset mic failing. The headphones still worked so I just needed a microphone. For the price I believe I got it was right around 80 dollars for both the microphone and boom arm. The quality of the boom arm is decent, nothing special about it. There is some play where the boom arm connects to the clamp holding it to the desk, but thats only noticeable when you move it. Microphone screws into the boom arm easily and is secure. Pop filter is included and csn be removed/replaced. Sound quality is extremely good for the price point. I did have to increase the volume output as after testing in discord calls I was coming across quiet. After the small tweak it works flawlessly. For under 100 dollars this microphone is a fantastic option for those looking for a recording microphone. Plus in via USB or can be used in am XLR setup. Highly recommend.

Decent for Entry Level with some caveats
This mic combo is pretty decent for the price, the mic build quality feels premium and actually sounds good too. Mainly using discord and going from a Razer headset w/ build in mic to standalone mic and headset setup, it’s pretty night and day when it comes to quality, and no longer picks up sounds coming from the headset itself. Extremely easy to setup as there aren’t any drivers to download, it’s plug and play with a little adjustments in windows to get it setup to your liking. The mute button on the side of the mic is touch sensitive which is nice and makes it easy to quickly mute when needed. Before purchasing there are some things you might want to know (that I personally would’ve wanted to know prior to purchasing) : 1. The side-tone (hearing your own voice in realtime from the mic) is available when you plug your headphones into the audio jack on the backside of the mic, however to adjust the sidetone volume, it also adjusts your pc audio. Meaning for me, I use noise cancelling headphones and like to have my sidetone pretty high as I feel sometimes I stumble my words when I can’t clearly hear what I’m saying with noise cancelling on, so when I crank the side tone volume up, my windows audio volume gets cranked up too and ends up blowing my ear drums. They are both directly tied to one another. Really wish these two things were separate, however they are not. 2. This kit comes with a really crappy boom arm / stand. Pretty much anything that is using the arm with spring design will always squeak and have adjustment noise, and the clamp base where the boom inserts into the clamp base doesn’t have great tolerances so there’s a lot of play there. 3. The included USB-C cable included is actually quite short for my setup and had to end up purchasing a longer cable. I’m personally giving this a 4/5 as the price to performance is actually really nice for someone just starting out.

A high-quality microphone at a fair price.
Excellent microphone at this price point. Recording is clean with effective unwanted ambient noise reduction while also providing consistent sampling levels even if angles/distances change slightly. The mic does a good job of focusing on sampling what's 2-6 inches in front of it as the instructions say. Boom arm is well designed (including sufficient adjustment points), well made (metal where needed), simple to use, and highly variable. It's also smaller and lighter weight than some other designs, making it less cumbersome to adjust and more flexible for various installation locations. Overall, quite impressed with the quality of materials and recording.

My new best friend!
First time microphone owner here! I have always abhorred the sound of my voice in recordings, to the extent that my hair would stand up listening to myself. My voice never sounded bad as I was speaking, but to me hearing it being recorded felt like I was listening to a hybrid alien/godzilla. This mic makes my voice sound like it does coming out of my head! I could not be more pleased. Even though I am not a singer, I tried singing and I didn't cringe listening to it! This is going to be my new best friend with my webinar recordings and hypnosis sessions! I love the sound, it's perfect - not too trebley and not too basey. It does not even need a pop filter. I am so glad I invested in this. The boom arm is sturdy and fits my desk and the microphone has a heavy, quality feel. After watching another gentleman's review I was convinced, and he seemed like a professional podcaster. So glad I invested in this. Sound quality: Not too much bass or treble, perfect and warm, Sounds like my voice should sound when I am speaking Value for money: It was a great price, affordable but not too cheap so you worry that it is poorly made Sensitivity: Just the right amount Clarity: just perfect to pick up the detail and does not need a pop filter Why did you pick this product vs others?: A podcaster reviewed it while actually using the mic. A lot of the demo videos do not show the mic being used! Works well: YOu can even use headphones and plug it might into the mic to hear yourself, and it plugs in to you computer witha USB plug though it takes USB and XLR Volume control: It's got volume for the mic and a gain knob too, which makes you sound richer

Great quality
I picked up the FIFINE K688 Podcast Microphone Kit and the mic itself has been excellent—clear, rich sound quality whether using USB or XLR, and it feels solidly built for the price. The only downside for me was the included boom arm; it’s sturdy but I couldn’t use it properly with my desk setup, so I had to find another mounting option. Aside from that, the kit delivers great value and performance for streaming or recording.

FIFINE K688 Dynamic Microphone – Great Versatility at a Budget-Friendly Price
I'm genuinely impressed with the FIFINE K688. It's a dynamic mic that supports both USB-C and XLR, making it ideal for beginners and experienced users alike. The sound quality is solid, especially in noisy environments, and setup is easy whether you're using a PC or audio interface. I recorded my entire review using the K688 via XLR. The kit (K688CT) includes the mic, metal boom arm, shock mount, adapter, and USB cables—though an XLR cable isn’t included. Build quality is decent; the mic feels durable, though the boom arm is on the lighter side. You won’t find premium-grade accessories here, but for around $70, it's a fantastic starter option. Tip: USB controls only work when not in XLR mode, and proper mic placement (2–6 inches) is key for clarity. You don’t need phantom power, and make sure to adjust your gain just right to avoid clipping. Perfect for streamers, podcasters, or anyone who wants a plug-and-play mic with room to upgrade later. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality without the hefty price tag.
