Benchmarks
I just had to upload my benchmark pics because it's important to know that your motherboard will play a part in how fast you can get this drive to go. I thought it was a good speed in a PCIe adapter on a B75M motherboard from for an i5-2500K (2012). With my recent upgrade to a B460M and an i5-10600 (which has an NVMe slot onboard), it's positively blazing.Comparing to other benchmarks online, mine still isn't at the top of the pack, so it looks like the Silicon Lottery plays a big part in how good this SSD can be but even if you draw a mediocre one, it seems an amazing value for the price.

Not as fast as a 970 Pro, but still plenty fast and reasonably priced for an NVME drive.
If you're buying this over a SATA SSD thinking that your game load times are going to shrink to nothing and your boot times are going to drop to sub 5 second levels, you're mistaken. This offers virtually no noticeable real-world performance gains over a SATA 3 2.5" or SATA M2 SSD. If you're on a budget, skip this and buy a SATA M2 drive for nearly half the price. If you know what an NVME drive is and what it should be used for, then this is a great alternative to a 970 Evo or Pro for half the price. It doesn't hit the same read/writes as the Samsung drives, but it's still leagues better than what a SATA based SSD can hit.

Best value for OPAL capable NVMe
OPAL + Encrypted OS = Peace of mind. Despite overhead of encrypted OS, still very fast! I have been very impressed with this and use it daily to host multiple VMs. I would absolutley buy this agian.

Awesome!
Very fast start up and any data transfers. Definitely recommend this product if you've never used a new style SSD. Be sure to read the MOBO manual on how to install and make sure your board CAN install this, it should be a small PCI slot under the CPU or Vis card slots.

Good drive but fair
Last i bought this it was 150, then with this price fluctuating i don’t recommend buying at this current time , but overall solid m.2 and so far no issues so far with my os , comparable to any other and reliable. * Update * after some time mine has failed under a year with speeds greatly decreased from 2.7 gb read / 1.7 gb write to 85 mb R/Write.. don’t recommend at this time but overall a fair priced NVMe... under a year of use too bad .. back to western digital black, i go after my drive died on me a couple days ago

Would recommend.
Works great, super fast! Ive used several different sizes of these pilot SSDs and they've never let me down. I've done photo/video editing and gaming on these drives and have had no problem.

Awesome price, great performance
Installed the Mushkin Pilot 1TB NVMe device in a Lenovo Flex 14 Ryzen 5 laptop. Runs everything smoothly and plenty of storage for applications. The price is great for what the device offers, so I recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade their laptop parts. Hopefully no defects for however long I keep the laptop.

Drive runs EXTREMELY HOT- failed after about 8 months usage
Used this as a replacement in my laptop. Worked well- until it didn’t. Mind you, this is ONLY about 8 months in.When I pulled it out to try to salvage the contents on the drive, I realized WHY it failed. It’s waaaaay too hot. Unbelievably hot. Not sure if it’s always like this, or if it’s because the drive failed. Either way, I’ve got a mess on my hands until I can get a replacement drive installed and windows set up.In short, if you’re going to use this drive, don’t make it your primary drive. Provided you ventilate the heck out of it, it could work as a secondary storage drive. I literally have a USB fan on it while I try to pull data off of it with a third party data recovery program. That’s the only way to keep it from shutting down during the process.A better suggestion? Avoid this one. Don’t be seduced by the price- it’s not worth it if it doesn’t work.
