Vintage Patterns: 1950s Hardcover – September 3, 2013

Well made book. However it's a very small book just being six 1/4" wide by six 1/4" height and 3/4"s thick. Every page a picture of fabric and in color. Someone studying fabrics of the 1950's probably will like it. I wish it were more substantial myself to fit my own interest in textiles and vintage sewing.

Just a flat out awesome little book for the price. A treat to hold and look at. Beautifully bound. Great content. Just awesome.

This an abridged and smaller (physically speaking) edition of 1950s Fashion Print by Marnie Fogg which is an excellent book. It still has many of the great vintage print examples, but why did I buy both of these books, when the one would have sufficed. Amazon did refund my money when I contacted them, but a clarification should be made in the description.

A great resource of retro designs. Great for building your own creative ideas.

Fun stuff to look at.

Anyone who has a love-in with anything 50's will adore this little book. It's a feast for the eyes and there are also some interesting little facts but, really, it's all about the prints. I just wish I'd got the actual fabrics they're copied from!I've bought copies of the book for my sisters who are both of "that generation" and will oo and ah over kitchen curtain prints long forgotten.

I bought this hoping there might be many more designs like those on the cover, instead I found lots of interesting information along with great designs I hadn't even heard off, not what I expected but a nice find for the price.

I'm old enough to find many of these wonderful patterns familiar from my childhood!I think this is a great source book for anyone interested in textiles.

Small book but good quality hard back, great pictures ideal as a design or art student source book. Good price.
