Safety I use
Came in timely manner. What I was looking for to fish with my arms freely. Since I haven't drowned yet , I can't tell you if it saved my life. I have peace of mind that I have something on because I wear it. Many times I don't wear life vest because of bulk and it's hot . Came as a good price too.

Interesting review
as I started this process that occurred to me what an interesting review this would be. I purchased this item because of the reasonable price and the compactness of the unit. The lifevest fits very snug and is easily adjustable and it doesn’t get in the way of activity. The part that I can’t really validate is its functionality because it’s a one use item and I’m really hoping I never it never comes to that.

Not safe, not US Coast Guard approved
No USCG or other safety certification. I wouldn't rely on this to keep anyone afloat. I thought it would function as a horseshoe once inflated like most belt packs do, but it just goes around your waist. Doesn't help keep the head above water, and interferes with trying to swim. Again, this isn't approved by any recognized agency and won't meet requirements if you're check out by the Coast Guard or other safety checks... and more importantly, won't add much to your safety on the water. Get a real PFD.

Perfect for kayaks.
We do a lot of fishing from wading, kayaks and boats. Most life vest are really bulky and restrict movement in the kayak or while wading. This PFD fixes that. I wouldn't recommend a manual PFD for someone who can't swim. This PFD is as easy as a belt to put on and adjust by pulling the webbing tight around the waist. I'm not a big fan of the Plastic buckle, I wish they would use a lightweight metal but that would rust eventually. The outer cover is an oxford fabric that doesn't tear really easy with velcro. The inflatable portion is neatly folded in the oxford fabric and has a tube to inflate it If needed and a whistle. It also has a reflective tape making it easy to see at night with a flashlight. It comes with a 24g CO2 cartridge that is easy to replace and readily available. This is not an automatic PFD, YOU HAVE TO PULL THE STRING to activate inflate it. I also cannot find where it is Coast Guard approved. It is easy to fold back up and perfect for fishing.

Does not auto-inflate - but that's ok if used as intended
The only down side to this is that it doesn't have an auto-inflate system. One must manually either pull the activator or blow it up using the inflation tube. The CO2 inflator is quick and this thing provides plenty of bouancy even for a fat guy like me. We keep these on hand for when we want to take a swim in the ocean away from land. It provides the safety of a self rescue device without the cumbersome wearing of a jacket or vest. Once back on the boat though we revert back to our auto-inflating PFDs. As an inflatable swim pack it is a great option. Just don't substitute this for a normal PFD on a moving craft. BTW - I tested it and found the CO2 inflated it fully and quickly. Re-arming with a new CO2 and packing was far easier than I expected.

It’s reassuring to have this quick-deploy option available.Safety Whistle: The attached whistle is a thoughtful safety feature, useful for signaling in case of an emergency.
