This is my 4th order for this tea in a bamboo roll
UPDATE:This is the 4th time I have purchased this tea over a period of several years.. I have tried many brands of Pu-erh tea and this one is my favorite.. you can really taste the difference in the various brands of these teas.. The others just don't stack up.. Nice mellow flavor and it reminds me of chocolate..no its not chocolate but it has a really nice distinctive taste.. I highly recommend this tea. This is a great tea. It has a nice mellow flavor.. I don't like Pu-erh in the loose leaf and the bricks are just too hard to break and too crumbly .. This tea comes in a row of 1.5"x 1/8" disks that you can break in half.. One half disk is plenty to make a large mug of tea. I make my tea strong so you may want to use less. I really like the bambo tube it comes in.. It's cool looking and it keeps he disks nicely in order as you peel it back to expose more. At 7oz of tea, its a lot of tea in a small space.. I recommend this tea!

A good tea.
I love tea, and have been a "serious" tea drinker for about a decade now. I love a good oolong, and I can appreciate and enjoy almost everything in between, but for the life of me for years now I have not been able to really aquire a taste for Pu-erh tea. Alot of the other Pu-erh teas I've tasted have had a very off-putting hay and "barnyard" flavor note that I just don't enjoy. But this tea might be the one that changes my mind on Pu-erh. It's got a medium earthiness to it, but it's not at all off-putting, and it has a wonderful floral note and all around good flavor. Personally, I find the 3rd brew to be the best. I still don't think Pu-erh will ever be my favorite, but this one will likely become standard in my tea rotation.

This is what you want for Pu Ehr tea!
This is the shnizzle. Perfectly fermented and is the traditional brew, reserved for the Emperor. Break off a quarter for two cups and 1/2 for a pot. Love it! Been drinking it since 2017. Higher in caffeine than most other teas at a price that doesn't break the bank. It's my morning go to. I had a question and received a super prompt and friendly response from the manager himself, who then sent me some samples of other products they carry for free. I wouldn't mind meeting him someday.

Strong Fermented Tea with unexpected funky flavors
Jinlong Tea Factory Puer in bambooPresentation is neat - the cakes are easy to measure, each is about 10g, and able to be broken in half for 5g chunks. The leaves are pretty shredded, so it doesn't matter if you break it down the middle. The price is good.I've come back to this tea six or more times over the past half year-> here are notes from the most recent session.Ratio: 1g tea to 15ml of water Brewing method: don't use gaiwan because of small size of tea particles - a pot is best. Water: 200-205 F Rinse: 15-20 seconds, until bubbles stop. This tea is pretty tightly packed.First Brew: 7 seconds - burnt wood, wet hay, cedar, loam, full-bodied mouthfeel, lingering aftertaste of charred cedar. Color is a very strong dark red.Second Brew: 8 seconds - More of the same, less charcoal/burntThird Brew: 10 seconds - clear tobacco smell, hints of caramel, burnt sugar, cedar still present, a bit of seaweed, metallic copper flavor on the finishFourth Brew: 12 seconds - continued smell of burnt brown sugar and cedar (nutmeg?), taste is notably lighter, more spicy flavor: oregano, cedar, nori(seaweed), savory. Stronger coppery metal on the finish (i want to stop drinking here because of this).Fifth and last brew: 30 seconds - still lighter flavors - seaweed broth, cedar, saltiness, mineral flavor. Metalic finish is still there.Overall: 3/5 - not a daily drinker but definitely a fun experience and a funky tea!

Jinglong Pu-erh is now my go to morning tea!
Jinglong Pu-erh is now my go-to morning tea and I absolutely love it. The tea is rich and strong and very flavorful. I truly look forward to my Pu-erh tea every morning.I like to add a small piece of candied ginger to the cup and a bit of cream too - so wonderful and a lovely way to wake up. The tea comes in round cakes about the size of a half dollar that are easily snapped into 4 quarter pieces.I then put a small tea piece into a tea brewing basket and brew in near boiling water for about 5 minutes. If you want to add a top-notch electric tea kettle to your repertoire, I highly recommend the Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1.7-Liter Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle. 4000+ positive reviews = I LOVE MINE.Also, I like to take my tea with me during my commute and I highly recommend the Contigo travel mug - it has a no spill top - for real - no spill!! and my tea stays hot for a solid hour - and I do mean HOT. Look on Amazon for: Contigo AUTOSEAL West Loop Stainless Steel Travel Mug , 16 oz.I'm an espresso and latte guy but I like to add Pu-erh to my morning ritual as well for balance and a bit less caffeine. Plus my digestion improves after drinking a cup of this tea and I notice that the tea keeps my hunger at bay as well. This is a fine company and clearly very dedicated to their craft.Great tea, great find and highly recommended!!

Pretty packaging but low quality leaves and weak flavor
The packaging is nice looking and the tea brews to a pleasant dark color. However, it has almost no flavor or aroma. I have had many pu’erh teas in the past and this doesn’t taste like any of them. In fact, it doesn’t really taste like anything at all, except hot water. Also: the pressed tea cake format disguises the fact that the tea leaves are very low quality. When steeped in hot water, the tea comes apart in tiny flecks about the size of a grain of rice. The whole leaves and larger leaf fragments that come in higher quality teas are nowhere to be found. All told, this is an objectively low-quality product sold in pretty packaging. I wouldn’t buy this again.
