Good
My wife is reading this book as she has recently passed through the cancer regimen. She also bought one for a friend. I think she likes it though I can’t be certain how much.

How you can effectively fight the beast that is cancer.
I am a cancer survivor and this book laid out hard evidence of numerous studies detailing how various lifestyle choices help tilt the odds in my favor in terms of not allowing this hideous disease to ever get a foothold in me again. Interestingly, neither of my oncologists (radiation and chemo were both part of my therapy to eliminate a tumor at the base of my tongue) had read this and neither could give me a detailed answer on lifestyle choices for my future. Hmmm. But I'll always be grateful to them for burning/poisoning this tumor out of me.If you have cancer, if you have had cancer, or if you have a loved one who has had the uninvited guest of cancer in their lives, I highly recommend that you buy and read and study this book. It changed my life and is still the best resource I have in what I will do with the rest of my life in terms of many of my lifestyle choices. I think I now have a boot on the throat of cancer in my life and I am not going to let up in my efforts to prevent a return of cancer into my life. This book was my primary guide on how to achieve that objective. JNL

Anticancer: A New Way of Live
This book was recommended to me by my neighbor friend as she was undergoing treatment for cancer at MDAnderson since last October. She learned so much about what we can do to prevent/treat cancers and she began incorporating this information into her lifestyle, as well as sharing the good news with everyone. At this moment she has received the latest test results that she is CANCER-FREE!!!I have been making changes in my family because I believe it! It just makes sense. We can all benefit from reading this and deciding to eliminate those toxins (in our environment and what we eat). Why not?! We know that our Western diet, junk food, sugar, etc. are making us sick, obese, leading to illnesses (including cancer) that we can prevent. The author, Dr. David Servan-Shrieber, has been there, researched, and survives to tell us about it. We would do well to listen!Read this; you'll see!

Interesting read!
This book definitely is useful and appears to back up its findings. My father recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and I am reading what I can now. It does address death more than I thought it would which was difficult to read at times. I had to put it down a couple of times but got through it and picked it back up. I will probably read it again to have some of this sink in better; there is a lot of information here.

Excellent Learning Tool
This book is plum-full of tips for enabling our bodies to be at their best for overall health and wellness, as well as general disease prevention. The wisdom described within is backed by research as is outlined throughout the book as well. While most of this research was specific to cancer, these ideals are conducive to properly fueling our systems (with various foods, by avoiding toxins, and tending to the psychological aspects of our being as well) and achieving the best possible quality of life. Whether you're looking to beat or defeat cancer, or simply improve overall health - I highly recommend it! I purchased a copy for myself, marked pages and made notes, and then purchased a copy for a friend as well. We can all benefit by incorporating this knowledge into our everyday lives. Happy reading!

A book that everyone should read, cancer patient or not!
Highly recommended!! I am a cancer patient and this book is helping me going through the toughest times of my life. I am having my entire family read it too as I know this book will help them understand my situation and how to cope with it. I believe that everyone should read this book, it will help you understand the disease, it teaches you how to eat and live a lifestyle that could help you avoid it, and also it brings a different perspective to those who has family or friend going through it.I also love the way he mixes western and eastern medicine. He uses medicinal terminology in a easy way, so everyone can understand it.

Everyone should read this book, not just cancer patients.
I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer almost six years ago. In addition to life saving surgery plus the requisite chemo and radiation treatments, I worked with a knowledgeable nutritionist. When I read this book for the first time, I was amazed because Dr. Servan-Schreiber advocated almost exactly what I was doing to improve my health. Then I read the credits in the back and learned that he had worked with the same nutritionist, Dr. Jeanne Wallace. There is no doubt in my mind that my survival and continuing good health are due in large part to my adherence to the protocol laid out in this book. I recommend that everyone, not just cancer patients, read this book and change their habits accordingly.

Great Book but.......
The book is fantastic but I want to use this as a reference book to help treat my cancer. The paperback has no index for cross referencing, a cheap way to save some money and a big minus.
